I saw this one before and I chose number 2 and would do so again.
I think it was the corrupt politicians that kept me from picking number 1. Not to mention that he who finds joy in the scotch well..is ok in my book too.

Churchill was a good wartime leader. But even the Brits, for all their gratitude, threw him out as soon as the war was over. They had a spell of bad conscience later and got him back in, but regretted it pretty soon.
Churchill was a thoroughly unscrupulous and dishonest leader, but a charismatic one. Just the kind of man you want in charge during a war, and one you will want to get rid of afterwards. As choice for world leader, he could easily be as disastrous as Hitler, IMO. In the UK, he was kept in check by the parliamentary system.

About Hitler's supposed Jewish background:
One of the most frequently asked questions we receive is whether Adolf Hitler was Jewish or had ancestors who were. The idea seems to arise from the remote possibility that Hitler's grandfather was Jewish. Hitler's father, Alois, was registered as an illegitimate child with no father. Alois' mother worked in the home of a wealthy Jew and there is some chance a son in that household got the woman (i.e., Hitler's grandmother) pregnant. Adolf Hitler was not Jewish.

You go Mr. Moe!!! I love the response!
Interesting thing about Hitler. He was a short man with dark hair, that convinced the Germans that the perfect race was tall blonds. How did they buy that one? He was as good as Russell and Rutherford in creating an ideology.
lol...Larc,
I think it was the blue eyes that counted.
I did not come close to understanding the mentality of Hitler until I read John Toland's 'Adolf Hitler'. It is a two volume set but is well worth the patience required to read it. The strange mix of psuedo science, perverted Calvinism and nihilistic thinking that laced the cocktail of National Socialism is fascinating evidence of just how close we all are to the 'jumping off point'. We all have a little bit of Hitler within us in one way or the other.

Jan,
I did not know that Hitler tried to invade Russia on the same date as Napoleon had. That is bizzare! Anyhow, the moral of the story was not lost to me....don't f@#% with Russia, especially not in the winter!

hillary,
: We all have a little bit of Hitler within us in one way or the other.
Yes. Scary, isn't it? I read William Schirer's "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich." In fact, I did a paper on it. Everyone who reads about Hitler and Stalin and the Watchtower Society and their ilk, somehow have a little bit of their mentality in them, methinks.
Thinking it and doing it are two totally different matters, however. I'll leave it up to the pros to figure out why some do and some don't.

Even the Russians don't dare do that in winter!
