    What was THAT?!

If I rode like they've just played i'd be embarassed.

England just finished a match that looked like a Sunday morning kick about.

Where was their drive and passion?

Why were there so often unmarked Brazilians?

Why do we lose all our energy and flag, mentally?

Why do they look so upset at losing;they did'nt exactly try very hard;what did they expect?!

    YUP-ENGLAND ARE CRAP-IT'S OFFICIAL.

Our only hope in Sport seems to be Athletics and Equestrian at the moment-at least athletes and riders have a professional attitude.

I thought Sven had got us over our psycological problems-I fear they're guilty of apathy-even in the World Cup.

I say half their pay until they produce the goods!!!

Come home RF and sort them out !

I can understand them being beaten; but allowing yourself to be beaten?NEVER!

why are they so dopey on the pitch?

I was brought up in international sport and have always had it drummed into me to

'Run THROUGH the finish line, not TO it'

    You've let me down boys...!

    Rule Britannia!

but not in soccer. The huns are riding and the cowboys shooting.

We'll see if Wyatt Earp or Schickelgrubers home mates will make the match.

and later the winner must find a way through the narrow canyon which may be called Bresil, Senegal, Corea, Turkey.

    Inch allah

but: its a match only and no lousy war - and afterwards the players may drink a beer together while the fans start ww3.

most sad was the story that the Italians have fired the legionaire from corea as he shot them out of the match.

that is some stupid action like the duces trip to the Cyreneika

my money's on Senegal-at least theylook as though they WANT it.

Lack of ego and a proper team spirit may just do it;would'nt that be incredible....

Im afraid I gota disagree with some of these comments

    Fact,

The games that England have played the worst at were the Afternoon matches in the searing heat,I had my reservations before the match about England playing Brazil,an equatorial country in these conditions,I find working out in the Sun here in England bad enough, but really, its must be very very tough,I rekon if they played eveningtime theyd have won,

I reckon they did very well in this world cup and Im right behind them for what they did.

    Well Done Boys!

I wonder if we have seen the same game...

England played very well today. They were up against a formidable opponent and stood their ground, except the lucky fluke goal (and I feel sorry for Seaman who gets the blame). The English simply are not able to match Brazil player-by-player today. It is a very young team. Still, they were tactically sound, and with a bit of luck they could have gone into extra time. After the outraguous send-off, Brazil had to defend and play ball. At this, nobody can match them. They used every trick in the book to use time. Fair enough; England would have done the same. Also, in the intense heat the English were totally exhausted for the last 20 minutes.

I am disappointed they lost, but, all in all, it was an entertaining game. England has performed over what could reasonably be expected from the crew at this stage. At a time, I guess all England fans were taken in by the media hype. That was pretty unrealistic. The team has excelled, and can be proud of their performace. It will be very exciting to see this squad in the Euro '04 and the WC '06.

Good Post Jan,I totally agree with your comments,

Wouldnt Norway and Sweden be a fine place for a future world cup?

    Thanks cornish,

Wouldnt Norway and Sweden be a fine place for a future world cup?

I wish, but I think it is unrealistic. We are countries with ~4 and 8 million inhabitants, respectively. My home team, which has one of the biggest home crowds in Norway, has maximum 10,000 people on a game, and the arena is sized accordingly. It would require massive construction work in both countries to provide infrastructure for the WC. I don't think it is realistic.

WC '06 will be in Germany, WC '10 will be somewhere in Africa; probably South Africa. Then, it will the Americas' turn in '14, I guess. After that, who knows?
