I know what you mean. We talk about some of the friends we have made online and we have never even seen some of them, some we haven't even spoken to on the phone. Strange that we could walk past them in the street and not know who that are!
It incredible what good friendships you can develop over time ... you get to know people's history and family circumstances, likes, fears and dreams - possibly more than if you worked with them day-in-day out (that may just be because I'm not very sociable though!)
It is good when you finally get to meet and we're hoping to meet more if we get the opportunity. Englishman's BBQ promises to be a real treat.
Is S.S. still around or have I just been missing her/his posts? Or maybe I just miss the litthe red devil
Friday hasn't been around for long time. I miss the debates.
I don't know why exactly but I miss aChristian jumping into the middle of some of those debates with a chapter or two. It was kinda like having our own "Cliff" from cheer's I know he posts regular elsewhere but keeps an eye out here.
BTW...DUTCHIE! Is THAT You! Your georgous! better watch ur back. wink.
Wendy, thank you for the update on Logical. I am glad you are still in touch with him. I know you spent much time trying to help him during the MDS period. Please send our regards. He didn't like me, as I was a little too direct, but he did like my wife, because, like you, she was more gentle. Nontheless, I care about him and his future. Please rely that if you will. Imbue, just go away and leave me alone. You have nothing constructive to offer to the conversation.
Oh thanks Pkm, but then you're gorgeous too. I finally put up my picture to make a statement of sorts, you know, I'm not going to hide anymore. But I think I'm going to take it down because I don't know if I care to be recognized or not. I'm just not sure. I'll see how it goes.

Larc,
You got too much class, dude.
p.s. since I know you're home, I must ask... Why don't you answer your phone, dude?
Amicus - I believe he had a new work contract starting in Feb, and I guess he has no time to be online anymore. He was a hottie too
Logical - been wondering about him. Glad to know he's moving on with his life. Whenever I see someone post a I'm reminded of him!
Uncle Bruce - none of us in Oz have heard from him since he went bush to build a new home, but I am certain he will return to the board as soon as he's finished his home. I've had the pleasure of meeting him in person, and he is a fascinating person. Each time we met up, we were at the coffee shop until closing time, that's how much we talked!
i miss jonjon terribly.

Prisca,
What a lovely thing to say.
Lucky you. Lucky him. I imagine it would be the same way if Uncle had coffee with just about anybody around heyah. The man has a true gift. So do you.
I live under the (no doubt) misconception that I will one day meet every single one of the friends I've met online. Reality leads me to the conclusion that, in the case of folks like you and my long lost Uncle, I will never see certain people face-to-face, and only because of life circumstances, time and unforeseen occurence (remember that phrase?) and simple distance.
That is tragic, in my view. Still, we got to meet.
Teejay, Regarding answering the phone, sometimes my webtv phone line goes back to a setting where the phone line can't interupt the internet. It is a problem. So, email me your phone number and I will get in touch. Luv ya bruva. Stay cool homes.
