Simon,
I thought that only ELDERS had the ability to do such things.......LOL
Latte
There are so many coincidences that happen. I was talking to a guy at the R/C flying field here in NC and somehow I mentioned going to the flying field in Colorado Springs CO. As we talked he had worked for my former father in law who lived there. They were good friends and he told me of his death not long ago.
My brothers former boss was flying on a plane out west and having a conversation with a guy next to him and my brothers name came up and he knew my brother when he lived here years ago.

Farkel, yes, I love those books!! Alot of them give me a great pick-me-up and a renewed belief in the world.
I began attending my current church about 5 years ago here in Dallas. My first visit I noticed this large Chinese guy about my age and heard him make a comment. I could tell from his accent that he was from Hawaii, where I grew up. After class I introduced myself and asked him if he was from Hawaii. He said "yes" and we got to talking. Come to find out we grew up in the SAME neighborhood and actually went to the SAME summer school at the SAME time! We hung out with the same crowd and yet don't remember each other. Small world huh?
good one Simon.
here's my "amazing" story
i remember one, mentioned at an ASSembly
some guy was going to kill himself by throwing himself under a train, just then a Truth book (yes, I said a "truth" book) hits him in the head. He picks it up and starts reading it ("good thing it wasn't an Aid book," was the punch line at ASSemblies), his life has meaning and he becomes a JDub. what are the odds!?
my slant, an addendum to the story above would read like this, 20 years later, at the same spot where he was going to commit suicide. he finds himself labeled an "apostate," because he tenaciously stuck to the teachings of the "truth" book (after all -that's what is was called; furthermore, many of it's teachings are now defunct -but he won't accept that). his life has no meaning (again). just then (a now useless) an Aid book hits him in the head... what are the odds!? again?!
of course now he's dead forever too, with no hope of a resurrection (after all -he's an apostate now); whereas, before, his resurrection would have been virtually guaranteed.
Moral -if it's to good to be "true" it probably is.
Here's another. Along the lines of Andi's.
When I met my husband he was sharing a house with a roommate that was the last house I lived in before my my parents divorced. It was literally the last place that my whole family was together. The bedroom he used was the same one that was mine.
We went to the same high school, though I graduated a year ahead of him. We hung out with many of the same people and I knew his girlfriend, who was friends with a good friend of mine. We had no inkling that each other existed at the time.
We didn't meet until six years later.
My Dearest Francios,
Please accept my most humble apology for giving you the "willies". Using the term "return visit" was clearly a grievous error on my part. I sincerely hope you suffer no long term trauma as a result of my actions.
Best wishes,
BeautifulGarbage
Simon. did i discover a (known) bug?
the reason i have several identical posts.
i hit the <Back button of my browser (i wanted to get back to the spot i was at in the active list)
i then got:
Warning: Page has Expired The page you requested was created using information you submitted in a form. This page is no longer available. As a security precaution, Internet Explorer does not automatically resubmit your information for you.
To resubmit your information and view this Web page, click the Refresh button.
i then clicked my browsers Refresh button
a modal dialog then appeared saying: The page cannot be refreshed without resending the information. Click Retry to send the information.
here's where i wasn't thinking(but obviously affects posts and duplicates real life web/application functionality and provided some beta testing feedback. i then clicked refresh, instead of cancel.
i then took the same steps to document the steps to duplicate the problem (that's why you see several identical posts) and am now presneting it here for Simon's attention.
sorry Simon hope this doesn't created too much trouble/work for you.
Simon,
That would freak me the hell out.
Like Twilight Zone, huh?..
It's heart warming to hear stories of that nature. Thanks for sharing.
