I have a Nokia 5165--I had a contract, but it ran out, so I am month to month now with no responsibility contract wise. I have unlimited mobile to mobile (90% of my calls are between me and my husband!) I don't leave home without it since I commute. My husband also commutes, in a totally different direction. Alas, mine does not vibrate, but I could buy a special battery that vibrates. No worries, though, my PAGER vibrates, so I can beep myself over, and over, and over...You get the picture!

I had one but cancelled it back in '99. It would only vibrate if I put it on silent ring. I found that I just didn't use it enough to keep it.

Mine comes in a tight little package and makes cute little chirping noises when the vibrator is on.

Nokia is the phone/ ATT worldnet is the provider

$29.99 month for 300 peak minutes/2000 off peak minutes

    no text messaging

Yes it works abroad. I take it to Mexico/Canada with me, but a cautionary tale here. ATT didn't charge me roaming because I switched it to "global service" for one month (yes you can do that), I think I paid $59 for 200 minutes that month. While ATT did not charge extra, the Mexican satellite or whatever the hell company tried to spam my ATT bill for $300 in 'access charges.' As you might imagine, those charges were removed by ATT following some pretty hefty bitching by yours truly.

They then told me that if I wanted to use the phone globally again, they would send me some type of gadget that would make sure that I only accessed 'their' network when calling.

    and NO it doesn't vibrate.

The tone varies, because my kid is always changing it/playing games on it.

I have a Nokia 3310 with a cute 'eeyore' (from winnie the pooh) fascia on it.

its pay as you go, O2 Network.

    I send between 5 and 20 texts a day.

I have the normal 'ring ring' tone and it does vibrate. Scares me to death sometimes when its in my pocket and it goes off!!

I think I can use it abroad but it cost something ridiculous like 3 quid a minute so i wouldnt bother.

A word of warning, steer clear of Sainsburys mobile. I had a contract with them and its been a total nightmare. I tried to cancel after the 3 months you are allowed to cancel after and they are STILL sending me bills. I cancelled in February and havent used it since but now i am getting threatening letters from them. I know loads of people who have had major problems with them and I wouldnt go near them again.

So other countries have pay as you go too? This is where you pay, say, a tenner using a swipe card and your phone is instantly credited with that amount? I use this system ,no bills ever and it does make me more cautious about using my mobile overmuch.

$29.99 a month, forget the minutes...

Free web browsing for one yr.

Damn right it vibrates when it rings, when I get paged, have voice mail, or email on it, when it turns off, or on...Vibrate is the only way to go.

Sometimes, I call myself from my home phone and just let it "vibrate" for hours......LOL.
