I have been with Robert Redford on location and I can tell you he hires only witnesses to clean. This is a known fact. So what's the big deal? Why is there so much hate in apostates hearts?
What Would You Have Done?

after reading most of the replies here, i get the sense that because one woman pioneer is a thief, that is another reason to condemn witnesses as a whole. honesty and dishonesty exist in all religeons. this woman should be ashamed of herself , but she doesen't represent the witnesses attitude as a whole. I will only find fault with there doctrines that they teach, and there are more than a few doctrines that have problems, i feel.

Dutchie,
What indiscretion are you guilty of that brought you here? As for me, I just want to see how the other half lives!

Wholewheat, I asked you first.
The other half is living just fine. As a matter of fact, isn't it against your religion to associate with us? Aren't you compromising your faith by talking to us? I am truly surprised at you and wonder how your elders would feel about what you are doing. Truly, I would like to have the name and address of your congregation so that I can tell them what you're up to. They just might consider what you are doing here an "indiscretion" and you won't have to visit anymore. You'll be one of us!

Er, it seems obvious to me that the woman is an anomaly. Most JWs I knew were scrupulously honest, if only to further the witnessing work. This seems to be a case for JanH's thread about stupid things to say about JWs. There are enough bad things about the org without making it seem like this one couple represented the group.
Actually, her actions go against the WT teaching (God! I hate defending the WT, but it really gives us XJWs a bad rep to bandy about silly accusations based on one action). If I remember correctly, the WT has pointed out the scripture that if you find someone's animal, you are obliged to take care of it and find the owner to return it. This, of course, would preclude the couple's action. It seems to me that SOMEONE in the hearing of this comment would have made that observation.

Dutchie,
Tell me the Watchtower that states that I will be disfellowshiped for being on the computer. There is no where in the Bible where it forbids Christians from getting on the computer and talking to faceless people with silly monikers. C'mon Dutchie, you can do better than that!

Ohtay Buttwheet, who else would he hire but JWs? With so many missing out on a good education and settling for janitorial work, who is more experienced??? One wealthy liberal being duped doesn't make the rest trustworthy, do it? If Redford has such glowing accolades for you dubs, why isn't he one of you? You got Prince, big deal!

Wholewheat, Although i would agree that you would not be disfellowshipped for being here, I bet you would never ask any elders at your hall what they thought of you being here. I remember a watchtower article back in the 80's that showed a picture of a woman throwing apostate mail away as the mailman just delivered it. The organization does not want its people involved with apostates. They say it leads to doubts. This is one big thing they teach that i completely disagree with.
dutchie , off the subject , but nice picture you posted on that other thread. musky

Man this org is changing and for the worse. Whatever happened to "giving a fine witness" and returning the wallet and hopefully helping the person who lost the wallet learn about the "truth"
On second thought maybe that isn't what WE want.
I cannot believe that a JW would do that and then brag about it. On the other hand I do beleive it because I have met enough JWs to know that a lot of them would do exactly that. How sad and what a poor reflection on the Christian values
