This really upsets me. Now with it all spelled out, I wonder how many more horror stories we will hear about people, like the ones in the article, who cut of their brief dealings with their family members all together.

I just saw a documentary on listening, and how important it is. And they had a section on some tribes in africa, that when a member sins, he or she is shunned, and treated as a non-person. They are welcome to hang around, but no one speaks to them or provides from them. In most cases these people slowly lose their minds, travel off into the wilderness and kill themsleves, or simply cease to live. They also talked about how in Victorian times if children were acting up, instead of punishing them they were shunned by their family members for a period of time. Many of these kids wrote later that they much rather would have been beaten instead of being treated like this. Watching it really hit home for me. You can't tell me the Borg doesn't know exactly what they are doing by inflicting something like this on people.

    The suicides speak for themselves.

You also can't tell me that spelling it out this clearly wasn't planned out by the Borg. The reasons for the questions? To really drill it home. They know they are losing more and more people. Fewer might leave if the threat of family and friend loss is placed before them. It makes me sick! This is clearly an attempt to scare ones who are thinking about leaving into sticking around and playing the game.

ignored_one, which KM was that in? I have seen July and August mentioned in this thread, but I would like to know for sure.

It is in the August 2002 issue. I will be getting my copy this week. Both ignored_one and I are both officially still "in", hence my comment to him. I cannot hide my disgust much longer at the way Jehovah's Witnesses are ordered to behave by the Governing Body. The most dreadful thing is that I know that when I finally leave, my family, unless they see sense, will probably shun me too, that's why I keep putting it off, and carrying on this pretence.

Let [the expelled ones] be to you as a man of the nations and as a tax collector."

Yeah, associate covertly, like we did with the nations, United Nations that is!

One minute you're sure your family will respect your decision but you know in your heart that they'll put the org above everything, even God.

    Ignored One.

P.s Is it me or is the KM printed on toilet paper?

back in the late 1980s, while I was reaching out to become and MS, an elder approached me about my association w my df'd mom (she baby-sat for us while we worked). I explained the baby-sit situation and he said fine, but that i should be careful to curtail all other association w her.

When I told her about this, and my desire to please the elders (brothers reaching out will do anything to please the elders), she took steps to be reinstated, even though she maintained her innocence privately.

After she was reinstated, she told me that the only reason she went back was that she was afraid to lose me as a son. Love for God and the organization had nothing to do with it. And that is the case with so many who are df'd, as so many of you well know and/or have seen for yourselves.

This is so sad to see. I haven't posted for a long time, but when I saw the torments that
those still within the"SPIRITUAL PRISON THAT THE WATCHTOWER" has become, I felt responsible
to get my two cents worth in. I promise you it was never like that years ago we were happy
back in the 50's. I woke up in 1963 and realised that most brothers had fallen asleep."remember
happy are the ones that stay awake and keep their outer garment lest they walk naked and people
see their parts of shame". Had a disagreement with a circuit servant over helping poor publishers
get strong and got thrown out.Just to show that it was different, the Brother that studied the " Let God
be True" sternly told me to always read the Bible, not just the Watchtower. Could not understand
why I was disfellowshiped at the time, but said to myself " this corruption must get to the top before
justice can be heard. so waited till 1980, then in 1994 the web really appeared and with you guys
and girls. I was delivered like David said "out of all my frights" Now I think what has happened
the" Chief Inspector" is really here. Don't you agree with whats happened, even the mighty Catholic
church is being inspected, and those CEO,s AND Isreal is back in Palestine, READ Ezekiel
chapters 37,38,and 39.and of course the terrible 9/11 tragedy.Don't be stumbled by whats
happened please. Look at the creation around you, when you get depressed theres always
something that is marvellous to behold, and remember this "it always takes evil to get rid of
evil.Remember when Moses stood before Pharoe. he threw his rod down to the ground,
then the Egyptian priests copied and produced two serpents, but Mose serpents ate the other
two up., Serpents symbolically mean evil in the Bible" love you all,
