Quantum is suggesting that we trade in one set of vocabulary words for another. It's just more jargon. Each time he responded, Quantum just dished out more and more...as if he couldn't control it...as if he were a JW...as if he went from the fire into the frying pan (or is it frying pan into the fire?) We have all been preached at, in spades...and we have done our share of preaching. We understand the zeal, the "fire" under his butt. We don't choose to get too warm. Uhh, by "we", I mean "I"...I can't presume to speak for anyone else here...HbH.

Correct. It's false because it contains demonstrably untrue stories masquerading as historical fact. It's false because it contradicts itself. It's false because it contains bad advice from an immoral god, a supposedly "unchanging" god who vacillates between tyranny and inaction. When the Bible can so easily be used to justify rape, incest, pedophilia, theft, slavery, racism, murder and genocide, it is no wonder "wicked people" have used it for their own ends.

I guess God really felt this love toward his creation when he created ticks to suck their blood, heart worms, fleas, mosquitos, the great varity of parasites, viruses that cause so many loving diseases to sinful humans and sinless animals. He loves fires so much that he causes floods in Texas so they will burn in the midwest. This loving God that likes to shake cities by earthquakes and burn them with volcanos. It gives him great pleasure to see starving children by bringing droughts to the land. I feel like getting on my knees and giving thanks, but old age wouldn't let me get back up.
Of course we can ignore all this and say the devil did it, but where did the devil come from?
If God is really omnipotent, omnipresent as the christains claim, then he has just said sorry earthlings, I'll get back to you latter.

I cant say I am any better that any of you apostates because my lifestyle currently is not one that I was raised to adhere. I just wish I was strong enough to be in a position to wholeheartedly worship Jehovah as a true christian. And belileve it or not , everytime I read the message forums it is making me become stronger towards the truth as I can see how Satan has blinded you, and how I know in MY heart the JW's are correct in what they say.
OK, they may have made soem errors in the past , but I would rather take my chances and watch as the light does get brighter....Jehovah only reveals things as he sees fit..how are we to question that?
There are still unopened scrolls yet..Daniel..what will they unveil.....all I know is if I dont change my ways I will be dead. But I can realise that....you cant...and I am glad I have this understanding and not not believing anumore...ripping apart man instead of focusing on Jehovah !

I, for one, appreciate the sentiment behind your words. You didn't need to post this, but it seems that you have a measure of compassion for those who have escaped the JW religion.
I think that some ex-JWs will certainly find comfort in Jesus. I wish them well in their chosen spiritual path.
However, do not assume that we are all still searching, or that we are all still tainted by the JWism. Some of us are happy to be atheist, some (like me) are happy to be pagan. We have found our own way.
Believe it or not, ExJWs are a group of people who do investigate many different faiths. They do consider mainstream christianity as an option and they do ask Jesus to be in their life (I did. He never appeared). Beware of being patronising to us by insinuating that we are all lost sheep huddling together waiting for someone like you to guide us.

This reveals that you continue to suffer the misaprehension that spiritual growth is attained by and throug someone other than yourself; that we need someone else to bring spirituality to us from the outside. Not so.
If you had any faith in this very flawed book you quote, you'd know that in Romans it is revealed that we are directly the children of God and do not need the agency of an organized religion or that of any other individual in order to achieve spiritual unification with Him. True Christians, indeed truly spiritual people attempt the liberation of spiritual slaves from the bonds of the very organizational ties with which you seek to bind them Truly spiritual people help others to realize their sonship with God directly, not weigh them down with yet another person's techniques.

I believe that the bible promoted racism when Jehovah told the isrealites to kill those in surrounding nations and to take their virgin daughters as wives. Isreal as a nation was told that it alone was approved of by Jehovah and that all other nations were defiled. Paedophilia - well the bible does speak of family members having sexual intercourse...but I think I will leave that one to FD since he made the comment.

Even though you don't recognise it right now, this comment reflects very well the guilt that most Jehovahs Witnesses feel and the pressure they're under to live up to some ideal.

What a really, really sad way to look at life, and yourself. What a callous and unloving God you describe. You first say that you are not strong enough, then that God will kill you for your weakness.
One day you might realise that the Jehovahs Witnesses are controlling and are not the TRUTH. They are damaging you and making you feel guilty 24 / 7. Just look at their multitude of lies and false prophysey.
