Do you get to count time for all this preaching? Just wondering. Actually, that was mean-spirited. I am not here to doubt your sincerity. I am similarly annoyed with the salesperson who nails me at the store entrance with "May I help you?" When I want help, I will ask. Same applies, only more so, when it comes to direction in my spiritual life. Your advice was unsolicited, longwinded preaching. I found it offensive, and at places, repulsive. HbH.

I am one of the few "never-been-a-JW" on this board. And while I agree with several points that you made, preaching on this board is about as useful as a tit on a bull. This board has numerous uses, i.e. venting, consoling, praising, etc...but preaching isn't one of them.. I too have very personal beliefs in a loving and all powerful Heavenly Father, one who cares about each of us individually, I also believe in the power of prayer....but I know that my beiefs come from my own life experiences. The experiences of people on this board run the gamet of loss of family and identity to suicidal and extreme depression. A lot of the people have had life 'kick them in the teeth' and yet for a majority of posters, there seems to be this overwhelming spirit of picking themselves up by the bootstaps, overcoming their mental and emotional monsters and thumbing their noses at what once was their oppressor. If you believe, like I do, that life is a journey and a learning experience, don't worry about preaching .... life is giving a sermon everyday to the people on this board, and they, like you and me are for the most part listening.

Your reasoning is SO Watchtower.
Our brains have evolved various "programs" to do lots of things, control the funtioning of our bodies, communicate, think, etc. This type of evolutionary development is more complex than the simplistic point of view the WTS uses. i.e. If there's a program there must be a programmer. All most JW's know about evolution is what the WTS has told them and unfortunatly, yet again, they have been misinformed.

Is there such a thing as criminally religious? One could start a church which felt that all other churches were criminal and take their arguments to the supreme court where a corrupt judiciary could find all churches criminal. all there leaders would be confined and made to pay huge fines. since there would not be enough jail space for all of the adherents, many would have to be executed. This would leave many ex JW's basically in charge of things because they could no longer be accused of being religious. Which would also put them in a good position to move into any of those vacant mansions no longer inhabited by the "GOD" people. So you see you'll get your big house after all ...but of course it will be in this life!
