One of our kids has worked at an espresso stand for a couples of years to help pay for car expenses commuting to school. Minimum wage job folks. Most of the people working at the coffee stand are students and really, really, really appreciate the tips. They try to go the extra mile for their customers. But the Dubbies come by, a car load at a time, order specialty drinks (usually the blended stuff - only two blenders in the stand), and then offer the magazines. They don't tip. I wonder if they would tip if she took the magazines? Hmmm.....

The ones I have had to deal with not only do not tip, they are really cheap too. After diagnosing ones car and giving them the price and gaining their approval for a new engine, they wait until I am almost done to call and say they got a quote somewhere else cheaper. Of course, we were supposed to meet the lower quote, after giving them all the breaks possible. So, where did the cuts come from? My labor, that's where.
They left smiling, after screwing me out of a couple hours pay.
Any more, if I see the car littered with Watchtowers and Awakes, I try to get it assigned to someone else.
