Poisoning the Womb

I know this has been mentioned before but I'd just like some input on this.

I would like to go "door to door" again, I miss it so.

What I am interested in is succinct criticisms of the Watchtower that would turn off a householder to Jehovah's Witnesses. Nothing sensational just simple truths in easy to understand statements. Something short enough that would not require too time for the "householder" to read and would catch their attention.

I hope to engage in "field service" soon at laundromats, parking lots and door to door with my own printed material.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    IW

for reals? why do you want to do that? are you one of jehovah's witnesses? forgive me i don;t know everyone here yet. is your request on the level, or are you just kidding?

anyway, what turns me off about them is their refusal to take the first polite "no" for an answer. god i really hate that... makes me want to turn the hose on them!

    Hi Incense,

Yes, my request is on the level. I diassociated myself in 1999.

    Nice to meet you,

hmm. while i respect your request, i can't help you. i like helping people but i can't help you in your quest to witness door-to-door. my personal agenda is to steer people in the other direction! there's lots of witness boards out there that could probably help you though. but... maybe you disassociated yourself for a reason...

    respectfully,

Island Woman, wouldn't it be great if you could get a list of all the families that currently have bible studies with the witnesses in your home territory? Then you could just go and talk to those folks who are in immient danger of becoming witnesses themselves..

IslandWoman, that's probably not the best approach. Just because people don't like the dubs knocking on their doors doesn't mean they'll welcome the same approach from the opposition.

Dubs always talk about "informal witnessing". Much better approach. I've found that when it comes up in conversation that I am an ex-witness, the conversation immediately turns to the subject of the witnesses. Invariably, it has been the case that the other person has asked a critical question and opens the door for me to pass on "the truth about the truth".

    OHhhhhh.....

duh! i get it now. you want to go door-to-door against jehovah's witnesses.

i doubt that it will do any good. one time this lady came knocking at our door about some mormon guy who supposedly molested her son and she told us what house he lived in and everything but she just came across as a weirdo. it's all in the presentation, i guess.

but your idea about going to laundromats is good. they dump a bunch of those mags in those places. just go in and throw them all in the trash. better yet, print out a bunch of flyers with some websites on them, like silent lambs, etc. and staple them to the inside cover of their magazines. the negative publicity would kill them.

    Dutchie,

Yes, it would be great if I could do that, unfortunately I do not have that kind of info. But I do plan to distribute something around the area.

    Incense,

I think you have misunderstood. I am planning to distribute social and religious anti JW statements in the area not pro JW.

I will not be dressed like a JW. In my area most people don't mind someone ringing their doorbell unless of course the person is a JW!

I absorbed pretty well the JW field service training. It will be fun to put it to some better use now. Greet people with a smile and if possible a hand shake and the world is sometimes your own, at least that's the way it was for me when in the door to door work.

    Looking forward to it!

    Take Care,

    IW

    Here's one,

I am a JW, one of the spiritual fornicators. i.e. we don't care enough to stay and love you for better or worse, we do however want to leave our seed, especially if you're receptive, but if your not we tell a few lies, only some - "whatever it takes".

    I'll post that I think.
