    Dear minimus,

It's always nice to hear from you. Having to worry about being set up as you describe is common among the WT population, and that's an abomination in any culture. Do you worry of a set up against you? Just think, the next time you pick up your friends child in admiration, your accused of being a pervert. Such a nice organization to belong to.

Sometimes I wonder if the ideas you come up with are for or against the WT. In any event I think they suck.

    Bravo, Pathofthorns.....

You hit the nail on the head! Thanks to their simplistic, ruthless anti-intellectualism and anti-education policies, the Society has marginalized or expelled any residue of true professionals they may once have had.

    Hi ISP

Great information! Where could I get a copy of the letter that you're refering to? I'd love to show a copy of it to my JW relatives ---The look on their faces will be so worth it.

    Thanks!

i agree with most of the stuff pathofthorns said,............ except in my opinion it is not because the elders are not professionals that they silence victims.............. it's because the elders are loyal to the gov body, and to each other......... and the gov body guides them to promote the organization, instead of justice.......... handing over child abusers get's media attention, costs them money, donations, and makes the organization look like what it really is, ....... they would rather silence victims, and claim they are god's true organization....... no rules that get imposed on the gov body will ever change that.......... they will always silence victims as long as they have the money and power to control the congregations.

Witnesses are witnesses IMO. I don't think you need to say 'credible'...Indeed in the discussion of witnesses the word 'credible' has never been used in the context of witnesses before. It would seem witnesses are witnesses. I did a search on the CD ROM.

So the word 'credible' has been used to describe witnesses soley in the context of child abuse because the only witness is likely to be a child. So go figure.

    Here are some hints...

From the Pay Attention To The Flock Book (a book of rules written by the imperfect men at Watchtower headquarters but to be followed strictly by elders who are under the iron fist of these fellow imperfect men) This book is not to be viewed by the lower rank and file members who finacially support the WBTS. It's supposed to be seen by elders only: ...

    Unit 5b

"The testimony of youths may be considered; it is up to
the elders to determine if the testimony has the ring of
    truth. "

"The testimony of unbelievers may also be considered, but
    it must be carefully weighed."

Keep in mind that the WBTS's definition ( and therefore, the definition of IT'S believers ) of who "unbelievers" are have nothing to do with the Bible's definition of who "unbelievers" are. An unbeliever by a JW's definition is anyone who is not a Jehovah's Witness/WBTS follower.

    peace,
    somebody
