I just started trying to get healthy a couple months ago. I started out by watching what I ate. Got into a healthy routine there. Then I added a walk a day at a park near my work.

Then I added very long walks on the weekend with my fiance. Now I am starting an actual workout routine. Nothing big. Just adding a Body By Jake video to my day. I'm already starting to see some definition in my muscles. It feels great. I have lost as much weight as I need to loose now. All I have to do now is sculpt my body so it looks the way I want it to.

hmm.. i don't follow any kind of exercise regimen or anything. but i am very active person though. we have tennis, basketball and raquetball courts where i live, so when it's not hot i go out and play. i know it sounds creepy, but i love to walk at night around here. to the community park. there's always somebody out 'cause in the summer that's about the only time people do venture outdoors, like vampires

and i'm happy with the way i look.

good luck with your progran and meeting your goal and everything.

    Hi Leander;Glad to hear you're enjoying it;and it's working!

I've been going to the gym and training for a while now, also swimming and have been riding for years.

I go to the gym 3-4 times a week- to weight train and run-but find the running there boring- I hate running on my own in the countryside(weirdos abound) But I have ventured out again lately- I usually do 30 mins weights and then run for a few miles. My dad's an athlete, so I'm doing it to keep up with him!

Ive just found out about HASHING ; there's supposed to be a web site-i'll find it in a minute...I think i'll give that a go soon; you all run in a group;around 4 miles(rain or shine and apparently it's even more fun in the dark?!) around the countryside/woods looking for markers(a trail thats been laid) and get fit; have a laugh and get covered in mud. They meet very near me-more fun than the treadmill!

I do feel much better since i've been using the weights though- i've noticed my shape changing and I feel very strong,I think it does women good to feel a little power- i've certainly noticed I feel more confident.

The difficult part for me was to stay interested; I bought a little light radio and headphones and that's helped-at least I get to listen to the Archers in peace now!

GOOD LUCK- you'll have to post a picture when you're done!!

I need to keep reading this thread for inspiration. My goal right now is to start working out again regular. I use to work out every day. 4 days a week martial arts. 3 days a week jog 10 miles. Yes 10 miles. 2 or 3 days a week weight training. I wasn't into weight training as much as other things. I use to (a few years ago) train in martial arts 5 days a week religiously and jog 2 days a week. But I found that subtracting a day from one and adding a day to another I did much better. Progressed faster.

Just thinking about it and reading this thread makes me want to jump up and go work out. ...aah, its too hot.

Hmmm, growing up, I always ran: track n field; relay, then volleyball, softball and soccer. Nowadays I walk alot, do yoga and pilates, swim when I get the chance and weight train at home. I'm planning on taking up a little jogging soon.

Oh, I run for the bus and jump through gov't BS hoops too.

hey plmkrzy, I know what you mean by "inspiration" - after reading this thread and then posting I walked a few flights of stairs at work, part of my daily routine anyway but, after reading this, I was inspired to do more. Funny how discussing this stuff can do that.

Now, maybe I should check out some active sex threads.........

I used to workout religiously 6 days a week, 2hours a day, strenght training and cardio. II also used to work for United Airlines on the ramp loading airplanes all day so I was pretty ripped. I stopped lifting when I was about 5 months along with my twins but still continued to walk(although I still gained 75 pounds). A couple months after the twins were born I starrted back to the gym but had to stop again when I finally went back to work. So I am down to walking at nite after I put the kids too bed Needless to say I'm back down to 130 pounds from 205.I miss lifting soooooo bad, it is so good for you mentally and physically. My chiropracter is a former pro body builder and is always trying to get me to train with him and try compete. I wish I had met him before I ever had kids, since that was something I had wanted to do when I was young and of course had the idea squashed by my father. Can you guys tell I'm lonely? I' m writing a novel on the subject. Anyways, Bad Association I' m always interseted in different workout stles and techniques, I'm sure you are very knowledgeable. I know I'm not as strong as I was before the twins, but I still look it, call me shallow but that's the main reason why I worked out.

OK, many of you know that I used to weigh over 330 pounds and had a gastric bypass to lose the weight. That's a stomach size reduction and some intestine bypassed.

But since getting down to 170 I've managed to exercise daily. I do no weights at all. I think cardio is best for health and that's the only reason I exercise at all. I do a 5 mile hike each morning and bicycle every other evening. Sunday mornings I usually do a 50-100 mile bike ride. Right past the kingdom hall.

I never want to be unhealthy again and cardio is keeping me fit.
