Not new...I was made M.S. as I turned 17 also. Bad decision on the holy spirits part I guess......oh, no wait..thats right...Jehovah permits those things to happen to prove some sick point late in life...

had the added advantage of being home schooled and that really helped him to mature.
Wonderful, how mature he must be without learning how to interact with people of all personalities and backgrounds. That will serve him well as a MS.
I whined about a 17 year old becoming a MS in my area, until a 40 year old drunken wife abuser became one. Then I really started whining. In fact that was my passport out. Maybe Jehovah does use everyone???

What crap! And, oh yes "home school makes you more mature"! That takes the cake. I found it was usually the young go-getters like this that were living the double life big time!

in a few years, no one will remember that he was appointed to handle ministerial servant duties at 17......after he commits suicide.

Things must be getting pretty desperate...appointing 17year old boys.
Well not exactly. Only until they (WTBTS Corporation) start appointing 45 year old women with a proven track record, into leadership roles within the congregation, will the WTBTS be deemed desperate.

picture this young 17 year old MS coming to give you counsel or to encourage you to get to more meetings or more service time. Yeh right, like when hell freezes over!!!!
The kid is bearly out of diapers. Do you have any idea how 17 year olds act when they are out of the sight of mommy and daddy and the congregation??????? We all know the answer to that!!!
