What I've laughed at and disagreed with is the fact that a MS is supposed to be mature. They of course say spiritually mature. Give me a break. At 17 you can't decide what breakfast cereal you like let along make a lifelong dediciation to God or to the duites of being a MS.

OUTLAW
LOL!!! I`ve seen this sort of foolishness before.A young kid with no life experience given a MS or elders position because his dads an elder.Hasn`t held a job that long, has`nt raised a family or kept his own home(still lives with mom and dad),knows nothing about the real world and is put in a position to counsel people 2,3,or 4 times his age.On top of that, how stupid would you have to be to listen to him..LOL...OUTLAW

Don't laugh to hard OUTLAW. That 17 servant might be more mature than you. You probably can learn alot from him.

All a MS is a gopher in the KH. They are just guys who do the stuff Elders are too busy to do, take attendance, keep track of lit, run mics and sound, mow lawns and stuff like that. A 17 year old can do it, because he has a lot of time on his hands. People think they are at a position of authority just because they have a title, like MS and it makes me laugh. Thats why I'm glad I never was a MS.
Here is another laughable experience:
A child (12) i know just recently got baptized. He knows a sister who used to baby sit for him, who is 21 now and married. The brother tried to counsel her about some silly thing that "has been said" "that just didn't look right". She just laughed and patted him on the head. The brother got a little angry and said "I am a brother now, you should listen to me" Everyone laughed at him because he was outa his mind. The scary thing is he didn't come up with this idea by himself, he just assumed from his enviornment that he has headship over any female, because he is a baptized brother. I heard his mom can't conduct their home study anymore because he is now the spiritual head of the family, even though his mom has been pioneering for 15+ years! (Dad is an "unbeliever") Any info on that?
Oh yeah, she better stock up on napkins, she'll need one everytime she prays at home now ;)

Hey I don't know which cong was the wrong one but I did the mike, sound, literature, lawn, map thing and was never appointed MS. Guess doing +75h in service during school months wasn't enough.
F%@# 'em!

this happend in my congregation too. Yes dad was an elder at that time.
He and dad had to quit because he,the young MS, started dating an unbaptized.

Hi all
I did most of the task of a servant in my teens, then in my early twenty I was made a MS , they had to wait until I was in my twentys before they made me a MS (local customs)
I did all that a elder did (except JCs) but after 15 years when I had kids to bring up, and struggled with all I had to do (talks, shepherding, field service, meeting assignment the lot, and make a living), they came around and took my Book Study of me, saying this is to help you, this eventually caused my wife to stop talking with me, she then divorced me saying well the elders dont like you either.
I was all burnt out, and had no time for family and wife, just so worn out. And they say this is a loving organisation?
I was like a robot just giving and giving, I never had any help at all. As soon as they take privileges off you they then turn on you, its horrid but true.
I feel for those poor guys who at such a young age will be burnt out with in a few years by un-loving organisation.
