If God should send his Son to 124 Columbia Heights would the Watchtower recognize his authority over them?

If Jesus came again in the flesh, went to Brooklyn healed the sick and performed other miracles but spoke out against the authoritarian rule of the Governing Body and the hypocrisy of others who work there would they accept correction?

If he said the Governing Body and all their immediate helpers were to step down because now he was to rule the Watchtower and correct their wrongs, would they?

In general I have seen no evidence of humility on the part of the rulers of the Watchtower so, while some individuals may accept correction it would seem that as a whole the rulers of the Watchtower would follow the example of the Jewish religious rulers of the first century, they would call Jesus an imposter and have him thrown out!

Like the religious rulers of Jesus' day, if God does not send his Son in the manner that the Watchtower rulers want him to come and to do what they expect him to do, then he will be rejected by them.

i "ve got to disagree with you on one issue , the might recognize who he was , but they would have a committee meeting to decide whether or not to let him be the boss! YOU KNOW THIS VIEW I TAKE ON THIS ISSUE 8IS REALLY A SERIOUS ONE , PRIMARILY BECAUSE IT TRICKLES ALL THE WAY DOWN THE LADDER TO THE CONGREGATION . ALLEN

IW, I think they would label Jesus an apostate from Satan transforming himself into an angel of light. Actually, I always thought the Pharisees knew Jesus was the Messiah but presumptuously thought they had more power than he did.

Just as the Pharisees were worried that they would lose their places of prestige and power, I think the GB and "helpers" at Bethel would feel the same way. An older sister once speculated that the final rebellion at the end of the 1,000 year reign would be led by elders (or equivalent) that refused to give up their power when Jesus returned the kingdom to God.

Would Jesus zap them like Peter did Ananias and Sapphira?

Nah, he'd be brought before a JC for running ahead of the organization, and disfellowed! <sigh>

They would have to take a vote on it and get at least a 2/3 majority and then it looks like Jaracz would win and nothing would change.

That's probably truer than we think since the WT has set themselves up as being equal to or greater than God himself.

    Blondie,

Would Jesus zap them like Peter did Ananias and Sapphira?

I think Jesus would just say: "Look! Your house is abandoned to you."

He wouldn't be able to get into New York in the first place because he'd be arrested for wearing Middle Eastern style clothing! In fact he'd probably be arrested for "suspected terrorism"! (Side Note: Did Jesus have a beard?) Even if he managed to dodge the FBI, he'd still probably walk into Bethel and have a Judical Committee on his ass in SECONDS baby! For "causing divisions" and "advocating teachings going against the Society".

Like many self-centered and self-exalted groups, if Jesus appeared to the WTS leaders, they would at first accept Him, because they would believe that he was there to glorify them and fulfill thier beliefs. Only when Jesus began to highlight their serious flaws, like the seven congregations in Asia Minor would they cringe and maybe reject him ... but as soon as he was gone again, they would publish more nonsense about how they are one of the Big 7 Congregations, the final of 7 in this time of the End, and that after their cleansing from Jesus, they are now ready for an even greater Antypical work deeper in this time of the end ... they would captialize on it, and miss entirely the purpose of the visit ... the only thing Jesus could really do would be to put them out of business.
