This sounds like an awful randy crowd to me. I wunner if I'll be safe? And the party is in Canberra? Or Melbourne? I gotta go study my map. How many general aviation airports are around Melbourne? That's why I need a street name, so I can pick the airport. I don't guess I have to do it today especially. I get kinda too focused sometimes, I reckon.

Actually I'm planning on flying a great circle route of some sort that will keep me over land as much as possible. I think that means I'll be approaching from the north. Leaving Atlanta and flying over Alaska, across the Bering Sea and down the Kamchatka Peninsula, down the length of Japan, then towards southeast Asia, Vietnam, Cambodia, the Maylay Peninsula towards Darwin and around the Queensland coast. I want to overfly the Barrier Reef.

You know, now that I've said all that, I wonder what Quantas wants for a ticket? I just don't trust 747s any more since 800 and then that Korean one that put down in the Pacific on the way to Hawii. Plus, I'd have to skirt the Chinese coast, ugh. Last time I checked a flight from LA to Sydney, I thought Quantas was asking me to make a downpayment on the damned airplane.

Hmmmmmmmm. Have I ever told you about partying on the remote barrier islands off the Georgia (USA) coast? I have a boat to ferry everyone out to the island? Har.

A few more answers to your questions, Frank:

There is one airport in Melbourne called Tullamarine. It's located in the suburb of Tullamarine (funny that, eh?) Here's a site that will give you some general info on Tullamarine Airport: http://www.melbourne-airport.com.au/index.asp

BTW the airline QANTAS has the best safety record in the world, so if you were going to fly over via a commercial plane, QANTAS is the way to go.

And the planned Apostafest is in Canberra on Sept 21-23. Canberra is about 7 hours drive from Melbourne, or just over an hour by plane. When you're planning your trip, remember that Australia is just as large as the USA. This should give you a rough idea of the distances involved.

Pssst - no need to ask for home addresses etc - if we know when you'll be arriving, someone will meet you at the airport. As well as being randy, we're also a pretty hospitable group.

Lissen, noddy, I don't look nuffin' like Andy. And I also don't weigh quiet as much as him either. I'm a mere slip of a boy. I sure hope I can get meself down there. If not in Sept. then as soon as possible. I been wantin' to visit Oz for a long, long time.
