How often do you get to Darwen? Most people don't even know where it is!!!

I'm new to this board but great to find it. Tried the MeetUp thing but it was cancelled. So what's with this up north mass exodus from JWs then? Long may it continue.

I'm in north London now (last 11 years). Born in Sydney, Australia then grew up JW in Auckland, NZ until disassociated myself aged 19. Would have been disfellowshipped had I been to the JC meeting anyway... Been out 18 years now so at least have half of my life back. :)

Hey, but we had swirly 70s carpet there too! Maybe staring at the circles worked some 60's style sci-fi hypnotism trance thing to help with the brainwashing...

How about a get together in the south - London or thereabouts? Tish, Pajaha, Anglise and Nowfree - are you interested? Does south stretch to midlands Johnathanseagull? Anyone else?

Please don't take offence at this but one proviso on my part - up front admissions of current religious status because I'm not keen on attempted conversion to some other version of christianity.

Hello Michelle,

I was a jw from about aged 9 and was hugely influenced by my mother in the ways of the organisation. Shortly after my dunking at the Twickenham assembly at aged 17 I disassociated myself - that was way back in 1981 or thereabouts. It was the best thing I ever did but my mother is still content to be brainwashed and since then she only speaks to me to preach.

I have just joined the site - there must be many more ex's out there.
