Me and My wife would clap really loud in each others ears as a joke, or in the ears of the people in front of us...Kinda mean I guess.
We should get together one day at a DC and just start clapping after a statement, just to see if everyone else will join in, that would be funny. Just clap often enough to put the talk over :) Mean, I know.

That whole clapping thing is such Cult behavior - get the mass contageion rolling! The speaker would say, "isn't it wonderful how Jehovah provides bla bla bla" and everyone would just have to get clapping!

My personal favorite would be when the speaker wasn't even finished with his satement but the applause would drown him out anyway...we really didn't even know what we were clapping for...
seems so fitting in a way...

My mom asked me to relay this 'story' on over.
A while back, elders in our congregation heard that in other circonscriptions, at the end of assemblies, the audience would all applaude so they figured they'd be good dubs and show that our circ could do the same. So they asked this 'brother' to start clapping after the prayer. Well this dub was too shy to do it, so he asked my dad to do it for him. My dad, being the good dub that he was accepted... thing is... he didn't understand properly. Come the end of the assembly... "brother prayer guy" comes on the podium... gets ready... and "clap, clap, clap, clap, clap, clap"... my father starts and don't stop... Gets the whole circ going!! Well let me tell you that the elders weren't too happy with the first dub, gave him a good earful thinking it was him that did it. Then he comes back to my dad and relayed all the sh*t on to him. My dad responded: "Next time, do your own clapping".
