ThiChi, I agree with you to the extent that many religious texts contain historical information, which does not have to be refuted, however, if the Bible doesn't provide the evidence RWC suggests, then the burden of proof is on him to find other secular sources that support HIS claims. Is this not reasonable? I would also like to add that the Bible, like so many other religious text, is also full of useless prophecy, moralistic judgements, and fairy tales. When you try to extract history from all that, it gets closer to being a joke, rather than histrionics. Just a thought.
