I've always had a problem with gritting my teeth, but since retirement the problem had disappeared until, I started reading this forum. Reading reports such as this on would make the calmest person living today a raving maniac. To df someone who has given 50 years to an organization over a technicallity is beyond belief. Well, the Andersons will have plenty of help and support from those of us who are considered apostate.

The crimes of the Governing Body mount to the Heavens, God is taking note, and they will not escape their judgement. I feel no compassion for their wickedness. With what they judge, they will be judged.

All this is starting to make me think we are reciving "New Light." That being, a new identifier of Babylon The Great. Could it be the Watchtower itself?

I can only imagine the hurt and frustration all of you who served so long must feel as they try to destroy each of you for doing what is right.

The Anderson's have all my respect and my sympathy. I am glad that they are free from this cult, though I hate the cost. I hope the son that was mentioned remains close to them.
As for the cult, their behavior in no way surprises me. I mean they twist everything and really have no love for anyone except themselves and the idol they have created in Brooklyn and now bow to. They deny Christ as mediator and warp and pervert his role as the loving sacrifice, the Lamb, into that of black masked executioner, the Greater Jehu, the Avenger. Wow. Read this small sample and then tell me they can't twist sunshine into darkness.

    WT 95

"JEHOVAH'S Avenger of blood, Jesus Christ, is about to strike. With his angelic forces, this Avenger will soon take action against all who are unrepentantly bloodguilty. Yes, Jesus will serve as God's Executioner during the rapidly approaching "great tribulation." (Matthew 24:21, 22; Isaiah 26:21) Mankind will then be brought face-to-face with their bloodguilt."

    Can you feel the LOVE???
They should have printed their own laughter into the last sentence. Fortunately, we really do reap what we sow and they have quite a harvest coming don't you think?

It is strange the feelings of loss even when you have to leave behind things you now realize were harmful and destructive. Whether the beauty in the whole thing was real or imagined or maybe it just came at too high of a price, there still was something about it that makes it sad to leave behind.

And then slowly they prove what sort of persons they really were and you realize this whole thing was a facade and you begin to hate it because it not only hurts people, but it destroys their whole lives.

I can't imagine the feelings of betrayal after so many years of sacrifice. But like the other posters' replies, I too have great respect and admiration for the painful choices made by the Andersons in behalf of children.

    Best wishes...

    Continuing with Path's thoughts:

There are some good people jw's I've met over the years - and within the last 10 years, many of them have the same way of speaking about the negative things which happened within the organization. "But it shouldn't be that way. It should be ...............(fill in the blanks.)

I believe a lot of people are so far in the org. that the only way to stay is to talk about how it SHOULD be, COULD be, SUPPOSED to be.......talk about anything except how it really is.

Live a life of fantasy, never fully awakening, but knowing something is terribly wrong, but just don't want to recognize what the Watchtower reality IS.

My best wishes to the Andersons - a remarkable couple that xjw's are proud to call their own. (Whether they like it or not, btw). Thankfully, the more idiot blunders the WTBTS makes - the more intelligent, thinking, people are walking away.....and speaking out with facts, figures, logic, and a truthful history.

The WTBTS will be damned by their own actions.

It has not ceased to amaze me how, in the last two years, the Watchtower Printing Corporation has not been satisfied with repeatedly shooting themselves in the feet. They are determined and I mean DETERMINED to blow their feet entire off, and will keep shooting them until they do. Likely, when they have reached that goal, they will start trying to blow their entire legs off.

: The reason for the judicial hearing, Larry said, was because Joe gave each elder a personal copy of his resignation letter. By sending the Watchtower Society the letter and then giving a copy to the elders was, in effect, "Undermining the confidence of the brothers in Jehovah's organization." Joe said he told Larry how foolish this whole charge was, that the elders always are read a letter of resignation, so what's the difference if they each received a copy? Larry couldn't answer this question and hardly tried, Joe said

So lemme see if I've got this straight: When an elder sends a resignation letter to the Society, the society in turn forwards a copy back to their elders for their records. When an elder sends a resignation letter to other elders, they forward a copy back to the society for its records. But if an elder sends a resignation letter to both the Society and the local elders (thus saving time and paperwork for all involved) the elder is "Undermining the confidence of the brothers in Jehovah's organization(tm)." Yeah, THAT sure makes a whole bunch of sense to me.

After all, this is of course, "Bibled-Based(tm)" and we don't want the confidence of any religious society "undermined" by kindly eliminating the little job of making a copy of a letter and forwarding it along to someone else, do we? What a crock of idiotic bullshit.

I've thought long and hard about why the society has been so darned STUPID with their actions on the NGO thing and now this child abuse thing, and I can only come up with a few reasons:

    1) They really ARE stupid

    2) They are like cornered rats and are lashing out in desperation at anyone and everyone who looks cross-eyed at them or points out their mistakes, no-matter-how-kindly those mistakes are pointed out.

    3) They are hunkered down and going to battle against ALL who undermine their authority and don't care what it costs them short-term or long term.

Rutherford is remembered by most of the current GB and Rutherford took step #3 in both 1917/18 and in 1932-1938. Rutherford's little pet cult survived both of those purges even though it cost him 3/4 of his membership to have it his way. Therefore, I can't help but wonder if the leaders of the society now have the same mindset that Rutherford did and are only interested in having braindead toadies in their ranks

For that matter, I can't help but wonder if they have any minds left at all.

They don't even bother to explain anymore - they just are
    obsessed with punishing people.

It's all due to an irrational fear of being undermined by this wicked system of things. Always has been. IMO

    #######

was the above quote meant to be a joke or something - WHY WHY do believers always believe that "God" is taking note to someone getting the shaft- How long and how much Shaft do people have to see other humans getting to realize that If "God" is taking notes he must have lost them or else he has more bound volumes of notes than the wt has bound volumes of old publications-

Joe like the rest of us just got the shaft from an American Corporation called WTBTS. Inc-- much like the shaft that rank and file folks in Enron and Worldcom got.

We worked for a company folks- it had nothing to do with god so many want to believe so badly that wt is connected to "God" It ain't and just like anyother company that folks work for that shaft it's employees and we were employees - just had a crappy benifit program, even thought the employee manual and material was printed on GLOSSY PAPER

IT IS ALL WORTHLESS there is no connection between "God" and wt, and how do i know,

Well ask yourself, "Who told me that WT was connected to "God?"=== was it not the same guys who told us the world was going to end and you and i would be sitting under some fig trees--

yes they lied to us and due to either being born into wt or having a need and they promised it would be fullfilled bottom line is THEY LIED TO US

we ALL WORKED FOR THE WRONG COMPANY - NO GOD CONNECTION , JUST THE WRONG COMPANY

Farkel and JT finished off some of my incomplete thoughts. First, Farkel:

I've thought long and hard about why the society has been so darned STUPID with their actions on the NGO thing and now this child abuse thing, and I can only come up with a few reasons:

    1) They really ARE stupid

The skill level has been extremely low. The library card/NGO response was lame, at best. The absolute hard line exhibited toward those questioning the molestation policy was a little disappointing. It seems that at least one seasoned Tennessee elder would have approached Joe Anderson: "Brother Anderson, we know Barbara's situation has been extremely stressful for you. . . . . . . . "

    JT:

We worked for a company folks- it had nothing to do with god so many want to believe so badly that wt is connected to "God" It ain't and just like anyother company that folks work for that shaft it's employees and we were employees - just had a crappy benifit program, even thought the employee manual and material was printed on GLOSSY PAPER

From this perspective, Watchtower responses make perfect sense. I have worked for a similarly dim-witted company for 28 years. Their words and actions reveal their firm belief that any one of us could be replaced by anyone off the street without missing a lick.

Watchtower handling of matters reveals a similar arrogance. No matter how dedicated the service or accomplished the skills, anyone questioning is dismissed as "not of their sort."
