From this perspective, Watchtower responses make perfect sense. I have worked for a similarly dim-witted company for 28 years. Their words and actions reveal their firm belief that any one of us could be replaced by anyone off the street without missing a lick.

Watchtower handling of matters reveals a similar arrogance. No matter how dedicated the service or accomplished the skills, anyone questioning is dismissed as "not of their sort."

if you talk to bethelites who were at bethel during the days of Knorr or rutherford they will tell you it was a one man show for the most part- and now with the formation of the gb back in 76 and today with the various COMMITTEES FOR EVERYTHING wt has taken on a full blown outside appearance of being a corp like it has always been ONLY HIDDEN--

JR Brown is one of the finest PR men you will meet in fact that is why he replace James Palecia who was too soft and not DOUBLE WORDED/DOUBLE MEANING enough when he spoke

JR used to be my mentor when i was at bethel, we used to call him the Society's Black Louis Farakkan

smile the HE WAS THE MAN esp among black bro and black bethelites- the "White Boys" hated though- say he was too flashy ,but hey the black bro loved to be entertained and he could put on a show

anyway, the wt main product is HOPE and it sells well among those who may feel left out of the loop and in my exp black bro often find the power and status that wt gives them far more desirable than to try advance on their jobs, I know in my circle of former bethelites - it didn't matter what you did for a living

i personally had this white boss who told me James our company is looking for african americans that can be groom for managment positions and i feel you are a good man and will do well, you speak well , handle yourself well among folks of all backgrounds and folk respect you- i would like to put you in our management mentor program, this guy was a District manager for the Washington dc office one of the 3 largest and highest grossing districts in our company-

well i told him thanks but no thanks I saw how he worked 80hrs a week- smile

i'm thinking - man I GOT MEETINGS TO GO TO, TALKS TO GIVE , SERVICE MEETING PARTS TO DO, AIN'T GOT no time to be missing meeting trying to carve a NICH in this old system

well he wanted me to move with him to atlantic ga when he got promoted, told me James (and we used to joke all the time) you and Lady "C" got to move to GA- i will put in a request for you to move down cause black folks are everywhere here in atlanta- smile

well i knew some bethelites in ga and they hated it they were in congo with Good Ole boys and they could not even get reappointed many times-

so i told my wife i make good money we live well, no kids no real bills Jah has BLESSED ME WITH PRIVEGEES in the congo and circuit here why move chasing after the almighty dollar;

well now that i am out i see that the jw mindset of wait on jah and be content with sustence and covering BS is just that BS--

this guy today is Vice President of Canon USA and i could have his right hand man hanging onto his coattail- but instead here i am sitting a damn Server Room freezing my A$$ off --SMILE

We white bros lived to get that spring letter from Watchtower, too. It validated us. When I would get in from work, usually around April, my wife would say: "You got a letter from the Watchtower, today." It was my speaking assignment for the District Convention. I would open the letter carefully, hoping it was something I could sink my teeth into, make my own, so to speak.

But as you so accurately state, this validation was even more important for black brothers. An "ADMINISTRATION" badge was worth two jobs, even it meant running the Cleaning Department or the Lost and Found.

In all honesty, much of our efforts in the field, in the congregation and in our families was all made worth while by a 30 minute speaking assignment in run down coliseum.

As you always say, James: "So sad." LOL

It's all pretty pathetic, as we all know. The stupidity of those at the helm is truly astounding. Forget a supposed bible trained conscience... you would think that just by being alive for a number of years would have clued these grown men into certain fundamental facts of life regardless of one's religious persuasion. Their inability to see the end result of their asinine acts is absolutely phenomenal.

Yes, littlebit, thanks for sharing insight into the PERSON of Joe Anderson, his background, years of service, his feelings, his life, etc. It helps all of us out here to know moreso the kind of honest brother he really is.

And JT: Loved your story/memories of days gone by. It's always really neat to hear what others experienced, especially the feelings of the black brothers. The cong I was in for 11 years was 75% black.

When I got to work in the Admin. office at 2 DC's, I thought surely I had been "blessed with privileges" by Jehovah God himself (and all the "perks" that went with it, such as getting to PARK right at the big garage-like-door of the back entrance of the coliseum rather than a mile away; and got to wear that A-badge you guys describe). Now to find out I was just an employee for another corp. Ho Hum.

Pardon the exercise of my freedom of speech right now, but having been denied the privilege so long (25 years) in the borg, I use the following words with GREAT relish! Goddamn pantywaisted pussy whipped freaking elders!! It just continues to amaze me (though I don't know why) how "controlled" we were in the borg. Perhaps the true reason is that I was so blinded while in that I just couldn't see it. I'm sorry if I've offended anyone, but I just HAD to sound off!!

Some of our best posters here are former elders and bethelites. I would assume that they were pretty good people back then.....just blindsighted like the rest of us.
