You're not so bad Bleep. I've seen people called worse don't worry.
Being a JW leaves a lot to be desired. True, there is an amount of love in the congregation, but that as a whole is for outward appearances only. Have you ever experienced being shunned because one of your parents weren't in the truth and you weren't part of an elders 'priveleged' family. Have you ever been accused of things you wouldn't even concoct in your head. Have you ever experienced the cliches and backstabbing, the gossip that causes so much trouble between people. Have you ever been shunned because you're not spiritual enough.
A Christian organisation is there to encourage the spiritually weak. When a JW becomes 'spiritually weak', they are ostrocised. They may get a sheparding call, however, it will probably come long after it's needed or wanted. They have love for you as long as you can keep up appearances in the community and give Jehovah a good name.
Being a JW can be positive. The bible has some very good advice on making life easier for yourself and your family. But, somewhere you've got to draw the line. When a religion as a whole is not practicing what they preach when they get home, do you really think that religion has the power of God behind it? Sometimes I think no, others, yes. Because from bible history it shows that God has always had compassion for the nation of Israel, who as a whole, where terrible. But, God, knowing our nature, cleansed them out, gave them chance after chance to get it right, until the end when he destroyed them because they got worse and worse instead of improving. God could very well be making a pronouncement on the jw's now, as with every other religion, waking them up, telling them to clean up their act or they'll cop it. Just like every other religion. Just because you have God's namesake, doesn't mean you have automatic protection.
