Fire Dragon, my condolences to you and your family on the death of your beloved uncle.

I am glad that you will be able to go to his funeral.and to be with your family. It's at time like these that families find out how much they need and depend on each other.

Thank you everyone for your encouraging words. I knew I'd find comfort here. I don't want to get my hopes up that my family will welcome me with open arms again. I'm just going to take it as it comes and see what I get. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

He had Lupus and 8 months ago he had a heart attack and heart surgery. Since he was just found this morning, no one knows yet what exactly he died from...it could be any number of things.

I am so sorry for you that your day begun like this. I hope your uncle went quickly. It's heartwarming that your dad wants you there though. Regardless of what all the others at the hall think - your dad wants you there.

As difficult as it will be to ignore those others - please take the time and just be family. He was your favorite uncle, and I'm happy for you in this respect that your dad wants you near.

Hon, it doesn't sound like anyone got a chance to say "good-bye". In my life I have always tried to find a positive in every negative. In this case, your family needs you, and all of you will get to say Good-bye together, in your hearts.

These are also times of remembering. Help your dad by bringing up good memories - funny stuff with your uncle. Ultimately - remember how precious life is, and how important each day is.

I am sorry for your loss sweety - but I am thankful that you are being involved. Please keep us posted - and vent, vent, vent.

Whatever happens at the funeral, dont let anyone make you feel uncomfortable. You have every right to be there AND to be included, he was your uncle and you obviously loved him very much. If you feel you didnt get a chance to say goodbye properly because of being DF's then use the funeral as your opportunity....you need to. Dont feel guilty for not having the communication you wanted to because of your being DF'd....I know its hard when you lose someone to not think about all the things that were never said etc but try and think of all the good memries you have.

In some consolation for your Uncle, the fact that he was a JW when he died (im assuming this) means that he would have had the hope of being ressurected and everlasting life waiting for him. This must bring some comfort to the JW family left behind to.

I had an awful experience when my nan died regarding the JW funeral etc which I wont go into now but my point to you is to not let anyone make you feel uncomfortable about being there. You need to go and say your goodbyes.
