Tonight's Internet Meeting Part

I just had to go to meeting tonight to hear the material on the internet. It was the usual stuff about pornography, many scriptures and THREE mentions of how JEHOVAH was giving this material to the SLAVE to give to us at this time, so there must be a reason. Of course, Satan got three mentions too as one who is trying to ensnare us into abusing the net.

AND of course, nothing on the net can be trusted, per the FSD. Our brother even said that new outlines from society for hour talks must include only PUBLISHED experiences, he taking this to mean NO internet experiences. And of course, the mention of apostates...he said even brothers and sisters who put web sites up to defend the truth had their sites infiltrated by apostates, WHO WOULD DESTROY THEIR FAITH BY THEIR WORDS.

I took notes on that one...to summarize, Jehovah.....slave class....curiousity killed the cat.....curiousity can be fatal to our faith....Satan.....apostates......Jehovah telling us.....

WHo will dare hunt for anything on the net now?

And whose faith is so weak that it can be destroyed by words from someone else???

    extremely...

Still trying to batton down the hatches !

Of course, in their own home, no one knows what people read or where people go on the internet. It is no longer difficult and 'dangerous' to get non-JW material like Books and stuff - a click on a link is all it takes.

One of the comments that was made I thought ironic in the extreme. The subject of chat rooms came up and we were warned about the kind of people that frequent these places. These people may not tell the truth about themselves, we should be not allow our children to make arrangements to see people they meet in chat, as they could be paedophiles pretending they are children. Good advice of course, but you can see how I was thinking can't you? Of course nobody in the congregation would lie about themselves would they? So you can let anyone in the KH be alone with your child can't you!?

Good point Matt, you're right, its almost worse that the ones who they teach their children to trusts are getting away with abuse and yet they make a big song and dance about not talking to strangers...which lets be fair, is not entirely original material! Ive been hearing that line since the womb. I think its about time they looked closer to home and admitted that they may well have a few too many wolves within the congreagtions....not just outside.

Typical meaningless posturing designed to give the rank and file the impression that the WTBTS is serious about protecting children. I wonder how can millions of suckers can continue to fall for this bullshit, and the overall 'internet is evil' nonsense.

Sister BluesBrother came back from last nights meeting a little miffed, after all the material they discussed was, I am told , two years old and she did not have a magazine to follow .

She did comment when the question of unexpected porn was raised. She said that her Hotmail a/c was set to filter unwanted spam ,and it is easy to arrange. The Bozo on the platform looked blank and said that he thought spam was a kind of meat!. Either deliberately obtuse or totally ignorant .

Every one laughed and she wished she had not bothered to give him an answer

The big hoot came when dear old sister M , bent double with osteoporosis, and hands knarled with arthritus but blessed with an active mind, said solemnly that she had once read an article about the net - carefully considered it and decided that it was not for her .

So there you go the ignorent leading the unknowing, repeating standard phrases and nodding as if they knew all about it. What hope for people like that?

the whole thing just makes me very irritated. I don't know who i am more angry with, the org or the ones content to be spoon fed this nonsense. I know that whenever someone tells me NOT to look at something as it will destroy my faith, my antennae go up. FACTS do not destroy anyone's faith in God, but they will certainly open our eyes to the truly evil actions of this governing body. How cynical can it be? I KNOW an unconfessed abuser of at least 15 girls, his own fleshly sisters included and up till one of the victims went public, he was helping out in the magazine dept; SO
now we see Bill Bowen, df'd for talking, df'ed without a hearing and meanwhile the LOSER i know is a pervert is still walking around the congregation.

IF I am angry about this, how must God feel?

Yes,yes oh yes yes yes! I love this man, they are aware that they have a huge problem but downplay it and infultrate the mind before they attempt any searching for those who have not yet looked. They will loose this fight as it is already too late.

How many times over the years has the WTS stated this?

Each time the WTS came out with 'new lite' they would state this.

And each new lite that they said came from God, has been turned off.
And replaced with a newer lite.

How many times can they state this and have people believe them?

Their new lite from God angle is beginning to flicker as more and more JWs are realizing the new lite from the WTS is coming from burnt out bulbs.

Back to the point that a faithful jw could loose their faith by going on the internet. According to the WTBTS, a faithful jw would be in danger of loosing their faith by:

enjoying companionship with their non-jw family

going out to recreation with neighbors or workmates

watching movies about science, politics, fantasy, romance, violence, religion, etc.

reading books on the same subject

reaching out for a higher education than high school

    playing sports on any team

spending too much time on hobbies

spending too much time on our families

spending too much time on our job

listening to the wrong type of music

loose conduct (anything from inappropriate hand-holding to........)

    etc., etc., etc.,

One would think that if we had a faith in God & Jesus Christ the "size of a mustard seed, but could move mountains" - that we'd have enough faith to be free.
