Wow I have never heard of this situation, if I were you I would be very cautious of their intentions, maybe they are trying to convert you over to their side. I have only known that young JW adults or teens are only supposed to date other JW's. Looks like you are treading on thin ice. If these people are truly genuine in how they feel and act towards you and your girlfriends relationship, then they definately are an acceptance to the rule. All the best to you.

My teenage daughter has a JW boyfriend. His family is extremely opposed to his relationship with her, and to be honest, I'm not too keen on it myself. He is a very sweet boy, but comes with too many complications, exactly as has been talked about on this board.
Good luck. It sounds like she is from a very non-typical, open minded JW family. I didn't think there was any.

You get all types at the hall. The family/JW would be considered 'spiritually weak' for celebrating 4th of July......JW daughter going out with you.......so thats it...these ones are 'spiritually weak' not in good standing. Quite a few dubs lead double lives.

An elder who allows his daughter to date a worldly guy (if she is living at home) would be removed if the congregation knew of your supposed situation.

Yep.....its either as I said.....in which case its no big deal or the account is made up! What point is the poster trying to say? That some dubs live normal lives? They sure do not if they are R+F dubs, everyone knows that. We all have friends or family still in it to prove it.
