My name is (fictious name). I'm a repairman for the water company. Would you please check your kitchen faucet to see if water comes out? (Pause). It does? Well, what did you expect? Milk?
Good afternoon. We, from the power and light company, are making a survey of refrigerators. Would you check to see if yours is running? (Long pause). Yes it is. Well, you'd better run after it before it runs out the door!
Hey that reminds me of a scam that I heard about a while back.
The guy would present himself at an office/business and ask someone to sign for a parcel. The parcel had not been ordered and that would soon become apparent. He would then ask if he could ring his head office about it on their phone! He would call a premium rate line and be on ages. He scammed the company for the phone charges! He would do that all day!
