I just want to know, are you guys as dumb as us guys when it comes to paying $4.00 for a cup of coffee?
We truly need a Starbucks re-hab centre over here in the US.

I have been to England and Scotland twice, and love it. I found the people warm and very accepting of Americans. My husband and I both try to learn all we can about the areas we visit, and like to stay and Bed and Breakfasts. There are always "ugly Americans", those who think America is the only place to be, but we aren't that way.
Both of us have our roots in England and Scotland, and my husband, especiall, looks like everyone else in Inverness..............really odd experience, so we fit right in. I have "an English face", everyone says, and until we speak, I doubt if they know we aren't British.
I doubt I would ever go back to a country that treated me badly, and I can't wait to go back to England.

Well Im a little mixed on the french. When Ive been to france its a crap shoot. Some are cool, some are asses. SORRY I DONT SPEAK FRENCH. SORRY IM GIVING YOU ALL MY MONEY. The Germans were cool, the dutch were a blast, the brits are cool 2. I think its more of a culturaI difference with the French. Hey, I will be the first one to admit that I am a loud ass, gun loving patriot- and well that doesnt float too well with the french. I havnt been to sweeden but every year we have a group of swedes come and visit us. Needless to say they loooooove the Cali weather. My only real complaint about Europe would be the F%@% horrible cars! Yes I know is $4 bucks a gallon, but a peugot?? Please people do better! Now dont get me wrong, I love MBZ, BMW, and Ferrari's but the majority of euro cars are gutless bicycles with a metal shell. IMHO.

Judging by the ponces who skip around the city I live in and swank into Cafe bars and hand hard cash over the counter for overpriced bean juice .......... erm, thats a big yes !
The bars in town now are real art student hang-out. I feel like I'm the monkey in the cage when I walk by. I imagine they take a long drag of their mint flavoured cigarette and say to each other:
"oh Roger, look at that common little man with his large nose and combat trousers"
"yes Jane, how utterley pedestrian!"
Life in the UK eh! ... tsk ...
You will always have a group of utter numb-nuts where ever you go in the world, who believe that a disposable cup with delicate pastel shading on it and a logo, is worth paying top dollar for.

Starbucks are everywhere here too.
I'm not that keen myself. Although I'm a tea drinker mainly, first thing in the morning I want coffee! I like Columbian best, especially when it's made in a cafetiere.

We have become so bad that Starbucks is now sellng coffee credit cards and they are doing pretty good.
They are pre-paid of course. Which doesn't really make it a credit card. More of a debit card I guess.
What next
I also drink tea. I do go to Starbucks but only when I feel like treating myself and a lot of times I order tea. Still, it's $2.00 for tea.

I love Starbucks too but it cost so much that I now make my own Frappuccino. It cost less and taste just as good.

I've really only been to parts of USA - except for jaunts into Mexico & Caribbean Islands. I've had so much fun learning about other countries from the people I've met on the web.
Eman - the epitomy of English. Well, Simon too.
Canadians galore..........good people, although a tad straight, eh?
Australians - from polite to wide-assed open. With that thought in mind, I sure miss Uncle Bruce.
And the Norwegians! Dayum!
Then there's the world travelers like Carmel.....still remember his posts from Israel fussin' & grumblin' about eating peanut butter sandwichs on Thanksgiving Day.
I'm glad to learn from others - and appreciate we have so much in common. So many friendships started, and "Things Learned."
"Phooey" - it's an American past time to gripe about our government, taxes, old people, young people, corporations, police, food.....and everything else. And we cherish that freedom to gripe.
