Hi All,
Thanks for your support on my thread "bad day".
It seems things don't want to get better. Sorry for moaning, but I thought I'd update you all too...
Firstly I saw the dental specialist today (remember, infected wisdom tooth?)
He said (after thorough examination, xray etc)
1. My tooth is not infected. The last man to see me was his assistant who basically "assumed" the pain was coming from that tooth (this makes me angry!!!).
2. My jaw is the problem - too much pressure on the joint. He examined my jaw, looked at my xrays and thats the diagnosis. Apparently a splint worn at night is supposed to release the pressure on the jaw. Funnily enough, my sister has had the same problem.
3. My swollen gland cannot be caused by the tooth or jaw. He examined my neck glands and said that there were a number of them now swollen on the right side of my neck. Heres the bad news: if they are not swollen due to tooth or ear infections, then they could be swollen due to the cancer having spread. He immediately phoned my cancer specialist and got me an appointment for tomorrow. He thinks its that important that he's given me my medical notes and got me the appointment that quick (normally they don't let a patient walk away with their own notes overnight!) She is going to examine my glands and very likely do a gland biopsy.
I'm glad this is getting sorted, but now I'm looking at the possibility of cancer having spread. I'm scared.
I will let you know what happens...
