Been there, done that with coworker.
Trust me, not a good idea.
There's a thrill about having sex at work, but you will get fired if found out.
The GOOD: the sex.
The BAD: don't get intimately involved with a co-worker because if one of you is hurt, there can be repercussions. Others can pick up on that and you don't want your boss to pick up on that.

I haven't done it, and I'm in full agreement with ajax-man. It's too risky -- people get caught and it can cause repercussions. Relationships with bosses and subordinates are almost always outlawed in the work place, and for good reason. The subordinate will gain an unfair advantage over his/her peers.
As far as sex with co-workers, again most of the time these would be little more than "flings" and don't work out. Then you have to go into the workplace and face that person every day, not my idea of a fun outcome.

Work place relationships can be frought with problems as mentioned. I once worked at a company where both the managing director and the head of sales had flings with the same woman at around the same time. They apparently had sex in a portable building used for archiving records and thought no one knew about it. But the story was still being spread when I joined which was after the woman left (or was forced to leave) the company. I guess these people thought sex at work was fun and exciting, but all three had subsequent marriage problems and the two managers lost all respect.
However, I have to confess that I met Mrs. Thirdson in the workplace, at least the same building although we worked for separate organizations. She was later hired to work for my company but we had little contact at work since I rarely visited the office and worked at client's site. A big problem could have been if we had split up and still had to work together. That is a frequent problem in organizations even when relationships start out with the best intentions. However, people meet people at work and people will date, form relationships etc. Like many companies, my company prohibits outside of work relationships between managers and reports and should ones choose to persue a relationship then one or both people will be moved.
Just be careful, and be aware of who could be watching.

Yep, when I was a young guy in his 20's. Boss's daughter came to work for us during the summer months on her college break. As it turned out there wasn't a problem. We enjoyed ourselves and when summer was over she went back to college and got herself someone with a future.

Everyone knows how a small match can start a forest fire when work is involved. Work has its own problems without having to face a lover while working. And yoiu may think you`ve got it under control and that no one knows about it.
They all know, even people who don`t know you know. Not a wise thing to do.

I think it's a bad idea to get involved with anyone at work. When it's over you still have to work together. It would be nice to just keep it at the hormone level and answer the call when it comes, but most women are unable to do that, in my experience.
That said, here's my work experience. I was the stereotypical janitorial JDub, and had a contract cleaning a 10-doctor medical center. After I left the org, I kept that job up until I moved to go to college about three years later. So there was a time period in there when I was still doing the cleaning, but without all the dub mental trappings. Went through a string of girlfriends, and some of them came over to help me occasionally. So, it was inevitable that we try out the exam tables with the stirrups. Woohoo! After hours, nobody around but us, but with the delicious danger of having some day worker with a key come in quietly and catch us at it...
The sex on the table wasn't all that great, but the thrill was. :)
