The only proven strategy is to play the same numbers over and over again.

"Strategy" in a game in which numbers are drawn randomly?

    Alrighty then.

The lottery is a tax on those who do not understand the laws of probability.

My method playing the lottery, I play 10 sets of numbers a week.

The mega number I pick my favorite numbers and the five numbers

are the same in all 10 picks. I have hit 5 out 6 once and four out of

five a few times. But my biggest win was six out of six at the horse races.

I went crazy after leaving the borg. LOL

Yes, I do play the same numbers every week.

No. The odds on any combination of numbers is the same after each draw. You as likely to see the very same set of numbers drawn in two consecutive weeks as any others.

It might seem weird but It's true.

If you don't play your chances are zip, but if you do play your chance are 1 in 41,416,353.

Hell, what the hell I will take a chance.

Unlikely that my $5 bought me the winning ticket. But it did buy me 5 minutes of a fantasy where I take my winnings and set up a foundation to put ex-JWs through college. Priceless...

But your odds on keeping your stake money are 100 percent.

Okay, I get the excitement and in the last twenty years I've probably bought a ticket on the half dozen occasions when there's a huge rollover just to join in the fun but really, it's a waste of money.

    Still . . .

The difference in the odds of winning going from 0 to 1 ticket are astronomically larger than if you then spend thousands. If it's money you have spare then it's a little bit of excitement and "what if" dreaming.

Pity the poor woman who got all numbers correct on TWO different lotteries in the same week ... but for each other. Doh !

There are syndicates that have tried to buy every ticket or an alternative strategy where they try to cover every 5 number combo (in a 6 number lottery) to clean up all the other prices. It depends on the lotto.

The funniest story I heard about playing the lottery. A minister would preach

about the evil in playing the lottery, unknowing to him his wife was playing

the lottery. She hit and his next sermon, God moves in mysterious ways..
