Locating Their Achilles Heel

Evidence is growing that the Society now recognizes the grave
danger of holding on to the blood doctrine and is quickly trying
    to 'fade it to black'.

It is likely that most Witnesses will passively go along with this
fraud and deny that they were ever required to avoid blood transfusion.
It is easy to imagine the Society publically asserting that
blood transfusion was 'always a matter of conscience' and not have
any more than a handful of Witnesses question the change especially
with the new intensified policy of disfellowshipping anyone who
    disagrees.

The motivation now for seeking their destruction is more clear than
ever: Their cruel, sociopathic use of disfellowshipping and renewed emphasis on breaking up families and friends with it. As long as this
remains, ( and is emphasized anew) there is no reason to relent
and leave them alone - even with the loss of the transfusion fraud
    issue.

So, the question is: what is their weakest link? Where is the most
vunerable spot in their armor? How best to defeat the Watchtower?

Feel free to respond. At this point, their public reputation has
been ( and likely will continue) to be justly blackened. The task
of their defeat therefore shifts to finding the next effective way
to chip away at their control.

I think it might be the use of the name 'Jehovah'. This doctrine
is probably, at present, the most imaginary and utterly unsupported
teaching they have. Thinking that early Christians used the Tetragrammaton to any significant degree must be considered a fantasy.
Every time Jesus said "Father" he avoided using "Yahweh" (or whatever).
Recognition of this error also leads to taking note of how the
organization carefully avoids referring to the "Lord Jesus Christ"
in common conversation - and ignores Christ almost completely
in published 'life-experiences' in the Watchtower when expressing
    gratitude.

FURTHERMORE, I THINK THEY ARE FRIGHTENED OF THIS FACT!
Take a good look at recent magazines (like Sept.15) that subtly
emphasize their "proof' that Christian writers used the Tetragrammaton.

Their continuing strategy is to 'build walls' of defense around
various doctrines or practises - no different from legal matters
where they seek to erect precedents of case law, one after the
    other, to protect themselves.

The process of chipping away must continue
since they have brazenly rejected ethical reform.

    A little off-topic, but wrt:

My mother is already doing this (I don't know if it is more widespread, so this should be treated as anecdotal evidence). She said to me about 6 months ago "no one was ever disfellowshipped for accepting a blood transfusion."

Because she is my mother and I love her, I refrained from laughing in her face.. but it wasn't easy.

I believe the shunning and the cover-up of abuse will take them down. Let's face it - they will never give up shunning. And if they admit to the cover-up of abuse, they are facing major lawsuits.

I also believe that the 'underground' the JWs have set up for kidnapping those being forced to take blood transfusions could be brought out further. It's sinister.

    I agree w/ mimilly 100%.

"It is easy to imagine the Society publically asserting that blood transfusion was 'always a matter of conscience' " ~ I can definately see that happening in the near future.

I'm glad you mention the blood issue b/c the silentlamb issue is just the tip of the iceberg - the BORG has MUCH to answer for - more on that later :)

I think their downfall, like most organizations and world powers, will be time. I just hope it's during my 'generation'.

At the individual level, I don't think that there is one issue. I think it depends on the person. For me, it was the history of the religion with all its changes. For someone else it is the lack of love in their particular congregation. So, the are a lot of issues, blood, shunning, the UN, pedophellia, local politics, the generation change, etc. What affects one person, may not affect another person at all. On the organizational level, I agree with those who wrote that the media exposure regarding child abuse will have a major impact in several ways. This exposure will likely lead to an increase in law suits, which will deplete their financial resources. While it may not influence many to leave, for some, this issue will be the last straw. Also, this media exposure will be a major factor in innoculating the general public from being influenced by the Witnesses.

MONEY is their Achilles Heel! Take away material support and you will see BIG CHANGES!

I agree - any kidnapping should be prosecuted to the full extent of the
    law.

These extralegal adventures could become a real headache for
them as the blood issue winds down. I wonder how they'll deal
with the Hospital liason commitees? How do they get this arrangement
to sneak off into the night?

I hope that, if nothing else, their child molesting adventures
cost them dearly - in the contribution box.

Look for the Society to demand secret settlements in any successful
lawsuits. Publisizing a big award could have nasty effects on
    contributions.

Quotes: It's unbelievable that she'd say something like that. When I was still Assimilated, having a blood transfusion would've been the equivalent of signing your own DA letter!

But, that's what they're all going to be saying a decade or two from now...so we might as well start getting used to it...
