I'm with SIX on this. Jesus used strong hyperbolic langauge to describe the same kinds of self serving hypocrites of his day. As pointed out earlier to use the age range of 16 - 66 it is 50 years (not 40) that these predators roam the Halls and homes looking for their next victim. It is imposible to say what number of victims is the average but it would seem to be sizable. Think of one victim every 5 years that would amount to 10 during this 50 year period time. No one knows. But the point that Amazing is making is that it is a sizable number running into the 10's of thousands is believable.
hmmm, well, in any case, the term "pedophile paridise" is serving the cause of righteousness pretty well, especially as used by Bill Bowen.

I'll reiterate:
A lot of emotive rhetoric accomplishes very little, likewise hyperbole.Most of the breast-beating is just self-indulgence. Cold blooded, dispassionate, factual discussion accomplishes a whole lot more.

Hey...Did we get the significance of Jan's post when he said the term "pedophile paradise", when first used, had nothing to do with numbers. When I close my eyes and visualize "paradise", I most certainly don't see hordes of people. It describes, and rightfully so, a condition that is CONDUCIVE to the propagation of certain acts. Many congs. may well not have a pedophile in their midst( I've personally never seen such a cong. ), but that doesn't mean that the CONDITIONS and CICUMSTANCES aren't ripe for pedophile activity. I don't care how some choose to misconstrue the application of the term. Due to WBTS policy, it fits. And until you've seen people thrusting their small children into the arms of a CONVICTED molester just to prove that they don't believe no stinkin' courts decision, then you can't comprehend how wonderful the "paradise" truly is for such pedophiles.
1. The Situational Pedophile, who commits the crime on an incidental basis, and may only have one or two victims. These account for a very smal number of pedophiles, perhaps 5% to 10%. My son-in-law's dad evidently fits this type according to the prosecutor I talked to.
2. The Predatory Pedophile, who stalks and steals young children, raped, sodomized, tortures and eventually kills their victims. Wesley Allen Dodd in Wshington State fits this profile. These types often have several hundred victims. One attorney told me that they average around 300 victims. These types are few, perhaps less than 5% of all pedophiles.
3. The Preferrential Pedophile, who seeks out and befriends children. They do not kill children and these average about 70 victims according to the most conservative estimates. Other studies suggest over 120 average. These types often get away with the most because they become expert in their seduction and decpetion of children. These are the types who cause long term damage and these are the types I have mostly encountered among Jehovah's Witnesses. They account for about 80% of all pedophiles.
In the case of the pedophile we where involved with during the trial, the judge referred to the pervert as a sexual predator of the most dangerous kind becuase he met the criteria of all of the above. His method of operation, or MO is preferring specific victims according to age looks vulnerability etc. and abusing in a specific manner. He was also a situational predator taking advantage of every opportunity, and and stalking them such as waiting after school for these victims or inviting them over the house and put them in situations to prey on them. He was all of the above according to the judge. Over time it escalates because sooner or later his mo changed and becomes more voracious.
