Since a lot of teens in general feel like they know everything already - being a dub can be the perfect thing. What would be better than being smarter and knowing information that 99.99% of humanity doesn't listen to or understand?
It can feed into their natural ego.

I can only imagine a kid knowing that it is bullshit, having no intention whatsoever of getting baptised, but being forced to go out in service trying to make the best of it and viewing it as training in how to be a successful high pressure salesman and con some suckers. I really want to make my kids read Catcher in the Rye. -
