Stephanus.....have you guys tried to optimize your images? Your scans are clear enough that you shouldn't lose significant quality and you can help the bandwidth issue as well. If you need help with any of this let me know. Its The only way I can host as many images as I do.

One thing I would suggest is doing the scans at a bit smaller size as they are a bit too big to read comfortably and this should make them smaller to download too (saving you some bandwidth).
I'll give it a try on one and see what difference it makes.

stunning quality, but at 344k??? A typical web pic should be around 50k. That took well over a minute to download at 56k modem. OCR scanning not out of the question?
Sorry this was short and to the point but I just wrote 2 paragraphs complimemnting your idea and lost it all. aaaaaargh!!!

My idea: everyone loves pics, so why not have some really small pics of the pages (which download quick) then when you click on the pages, it will load the basic text which is automatically obtained through OCR software which coverts the pic into straight text.
