What steve2 said, they imply impurity of motive about us. We are selfish, we are arrogant, we are lazy about meetings, we value knowledge and think we know better than Jehovah's organisation, we don't have humility. Anything rather than admit we have proved to ourselves it just isn't true. -

I have heard this so many times over the years from different ones whose children or other family members had left the organization - he/she knows it is the truth. I know my own mother believed this about me for a long time. But then we had a couple of conversations where I spoke up strongly about JWs and the wrongness of their beliefs and she finally came to realize that I truly did not believe it any more. She even told my younger sister who was still in "Virginia does not believe the same way we do". When I heard she had said that it was such a victory for me! My mother is deceased now - passed away from brain cancer in 2012 and I really don't see or talk to my JW family members much, nothing really in common with them any more. I still love them but I deplore their choice in religion and I hate the way they like to bring up things and people JW to me thinking that somehow they will bring me back to the fold. -

My mother used to say that to me ALL the time, yeah, that's the way to get someone to come back, aggravate and irritate them to death. -

To me it is unalterably simple: "By their fruits you will know them: They will have love among themselves".
I take that seriously. Still searching!

If it were the truth...
... they wouldn't have to keep changing it...

They just can't get it into thier heads that we disagree this is also why they start rumors about us. They can't fathom they idea that it's not the truth or that it can be wrong so we must be nuts and the rumors help them to reinforce the idea. -

However deep down you go in me, all the way to the (my) bottom if you like, you will find that I know it is "The False". -

What Ding said exactly, truth doesn't change the sun will come up in the East just like every other day, for witnesses and new light guess the sun will come up in the northeast or some such. Didn't say that well. -

BLUES BROTHER- I think it's like the old expression " misery loves company " - some of our JW family or friends might secretly have doubts themselves they keep inside without telling anybody- so outwardly they have to TALK like they really do believe it by claiming that those of us who left " REALLY " believe it - so they can convince themselves that THEY believe it as well. A " cognizant dissonance " kind of thing- if you get my drift. Kind of how I see this. Good thread, Peace out, Mr. Flipper
Added to note: That way they can continue to live in denial thinking that we still believe in it- thus not disturbing the alignment in their JW universe.
