Hi all.......I've been around for a while, I love this site and the people therein, and appreciate the tremendous amount of work Simon put's in (Simon sorry couldn't make it Sunday, but let me know about next time). I don't post much but take a avid interest in peoples views etc. After over 15 years of Da'ing myself, I only reached these sites a few weeks ago, and since have engorged myself on the info about the Org and their lying ways. My JW family are not aware as far as I know, know I come here and would be horrified I expect........Mum and Dad are eldery and I'd rather keep the peace, would never want them to go to their death beds having, had the Org tell them to shun me, I hope you can all understand that.......Phew, now that's said............how ethical would it be to sign up on a JW site, pretendng to be active but then introduce bits and bobs regarding false teaching etc etc. Have I done it???...Ooops well yes I have and for the moment seem to be accepted within the community, although I have no doubt that some if not the majority are peeps like me LOL. maybe its my way of contributing to informing JW's of their Organisation and what it is up to etc etc.......any thoughts would be apprecieated

Your question is the inverse of the concept of Theocratic Warfare which, when translated into the English, means LIE LIKE HELL. It's most famous adherents were Adolph Hitler and Richard Nixon. Great company the Governing Body of the WTBTS keeps, huh?

Whereas Theocratic Warfare posits that it is not necessary to reveal the truth of any given situation to anyone who "doesn't 'deserve' it," your situation is that wherein you reveal the truth to people who don't have it and who should; people whom you love..or people you despise, for that matter. You can be as diplomatic and as subtle as you feel you need to be in revealing this truth, but telling the truth is incumbent on all children of God, who has a requirement that he be approached with spirit and with truth - and futher that his children behave as He does, faithfully dealing in the truth regardless of consequences.

How at contrast is this ethical and moral position when compared to the WTBTS's "Theocratic Warefare" as it sinks ever deeper in to the spiritual and moral morass of its own making.

I would not want to share in the judgement that certainly awaits the authors of "Theocratic Warfare."

Let's hear what the Watchtower has to say about such a moral dilemna:

*** w74 1/15 35 Can You Be True to God, Yet Hide the Facts? ***

Can You Be True to God, Yet Hide the Facts?

WHAT results when a lie is let go unchallenged? Does not silence help the lie to pass as truth, to have freer sway to influence many, perhaps to their serious harm?

What happens when misconduct and immorality are allowed to go unexposed and uncondemned? Is this not like covering over an infection without any effort to cure it and keep it from spreading?

When persons are in great danger from a source that they do not suspect or are being misled by those they consider their friends, is it an unkindness to warn them? They may prefer not to believe the warning. They may even resent it. But does that free one from the moral responsibility to give that warning?

Well, they won't talk to disfellowshipped, dissasociated ones or opposers, so how can somebody actually engage these folks long enough to convey some potentially life saving ideas/thoughts/questions? While in many cases it would be unethical to pose as something you are not, I can't see how you could effectively reach them otherwise.
So, while I'm sure many would rather talk in a straightforward manner to them, their group structure does not allow open discourse. Unfortunately, that means that sometimes people having go to ends that some would rather not go to in order to reach them. I tend to think in terms of how many people you might help by trying to encourage their critical thinking capacities.
I also don't think that the society encourages honest communications in their own right, so for them to complain would be rather hypocritical.

Absolutely go in an infiltrate their sites. The more doubts created by any means the better. They need to know the real truth, and if it gets them to start thinking, then great. How else are we to do it? I think that is a great way. Which sites are you thinking about?

There are a number of JW sites that allow non-JW's to post also. You can honestly sign up on one of those sites, being careful how you word questions & responses so that you are not lying about your current status.

    For example:

I have studied with the JW's but still have questions (true answer), or I am currently inactive (again - not a dishonest answer), or my favorite I have family that are JW's and I have this question....(see...it just takes some careful thought to how you word your questions and responses).

It's probably pointless. They're either entrenched, or already on their way out.
