What does she MEAN? You see, some people are very content being Witnesses. They will defend it and live the life proudly.

Just goes to show how isolated JWs really are!!! How they automatically lump the ENTIRE teenage world into the SAME category. Obviously, they don't know that teenagers are not all FORCED to look, think, and act the same way like witnesses are. A good parent and/or a good child is not created or determined by their religion. The person who wrote this is beyond naive. Not all teenagers who are NOT JWs engage in pre-marital sex or smoke pot. I think it is sad that they actually believe that EVERYONE who is not a Jehovah's Witness is so completely immoral. Oh well, I guess if you are told not to have anything to do with anyone who is not a witness, then how's a kid to know...except by basing their opinion on what they have been taught and told to think. Sad, really...

Just found you. It helps me feel better thru the day. It's nice to know I'm not the only one that had to be dragged from door - to - door.

It's very sad that they think it is all in the name of the "Truth" - I remember how I felt as a young person being such an outcast & constantly made fun of. It began when I couldn't salute the flag in grade school. That began the mocking and it never stopped. The only thing that would've been worse for me is if I had two crazy jw parents! One was enough. Now I have none. Being an only child there is nowhere to turn.

I am reading Crisis of Conscience and it all helps me count my blessings. I am so blessed I don't have to live like that.

Welcome, moana! You'll enjoy the forum. I was amazed to find how many people felt the same way I did, and it's nice to talk to those who can "speak the language" without having to explain what we're talking about. I'm an only child too and I did have TWO JW parents - very intense, let me tell you! My mom is in a nursing home with Alzheimer's and my dad has mellowed out a lot since she went in, so that's a relief. He's very understanding of my reasons for not attending anymore.
