    People,

I just got off the phone with a reporter friend. No, I'm lying she is actually is a major news producer ... hehehehe

The Watchtower has sent a lot of people to the trial.

There are few supporters for Vicki in the court room. I know a lot of you people are scared. I completely understand but if there are a few more out there who are willing, Vicki would appreciate it all. One person and his buddy today came from Cambridge into Toronto. They WILL be back tomorrow for the trial.

I have purposely reworked my calendar and taking time off work to go next week.

    The room is PACKED!!!!

If any of you in the greater Toronto area can make it into the court house tomorrow it would be appreciated. Court time is 9:30 to 10:00am, Court Room 4-4, 361 University Ave.

For those already there - I can't thank you enough for going. For those to go tomorrow - again thank you thank you thank you.

We just gave CBC local one helluva a story. So please do the nasty and go to 361 University Ave. and enjoy the show.

For your notes - Vicki just finished evidence in chief at about 3:00pm. Apparently it went well but unless I am there I can't really tell you for sure.

She is just about to be cross-examined by the defence counsel. This will be a test for sure.

Also this is a civil trial by judge only - no jury.

I figured this was the main gist? Sorry........South Carolina & work just get in my way.

Hope she gives the WTBTS the hell they deserve.

I'm sorry to hear the dumb-dubs are showing up in force again... making fools of themselves really. (Shouldn't they be out PREACHING or something?) If it goes like the trials prior to this, having all the dubs show up in support of a pervert will only DISGUST the judge like it did in a previous case.

I don't know one single soul in Toronto or anywhere near there. I surely wish I did. I'm sorry more of us are not nearby. Thanks for these updates, and I am so glad you can go tomorrow and give Vicky much hugs and support. I imagine the cross-examination truly WILL be very rough if it's anything like I've seen on TV (Catholic Church attorneys, etc.) We will all pray for her. She definitely needs all the thick-skin and courage she can muster up.

"Narrow and cramped is the road leading off into LIFE for the VICTIMS at trial and Few can be there to back them up; but BROAD & SPACIOUS is the road leading dumb-dubs into DESTRUCTION who blindly go to court in order to stick up for a PEDOPHILE, and MANY dumb-dubs are going thru it."

It was just on the news (City TV) one of the top stories. If we could only get about ten of these cases happening at one time then Glen Howe would be really busy!

Hey why dosen`t the media ask him why he is on his third marriage and how many times he has been disfellowshipped?

I just got back home from the trial.

There were a lot of Witnesses in the courtroom, but there were quite a few xjw's too, so Vicki wasn't totally alone in there.

And yes she did excellently in her testimony, even under cross examination from the WTS.

I'll try and post some more notes a bit later.

Trial starts tomorrow at 10 am, with further cross examination of Vicki by the WTS.

I was able to attend the afternoon session of the trial. It was apparent on getting there that the JW's had made a major effort to turn out in force. There were more in that courtroom than in most meetings for field service. All smartly dressed to give a good witness of course.

Vicki was giving testimony. At this point I should say that rarely have I been so impressed with someone's strength to maintain self-control and dignity. I know that sounds pat, but so be it. Vicki gave her testimony and answers to the questions with a quiet but huge dignity, even when the WTS lawyer was probing the minutiae of her evidence to try and find discrediting contradictions. I must also say that the JW's conducted themselves well, and there was none of the namecalling recorded at other trials (yet anyway).

I wont go much into the evidence examined. Suffice it to say that Vicki described how she had been forced time and again to repeat the process of describing the abuse, and confront her abuser, while elders looked for tiny variations in her story, even comparing the words she used to see if they were the same. She wept on a couple of occasions, and on others was strongly emphatic in denying the written claims of the WT elders in question.

The WT lawyer (a young fellow with an Irish (?) accent) then cross examined Vicki. Unfortunately he too demonstrated the Watchtowers approach to be one of trying to find tiny discrepancies in her story to discredit her. He did emphasize that he was not disputing the fact of the assault, but then dwelt for quite some time on how Vicki had been told by various Witnesses to dress modestly and not wear her nightwear around the house. He also tried to make it appear that the non-reporting of the crime was entirely her choice. I personally felt that Vicki came out of this exchange very well, since she emphasized very convincingly how coercive the Witnesses are. This would appear to be the WT's strategy, from what I have seen today: discredit and foist responsibility for non-reporting back onto the victim.

So at the end of day one I think Vicki can feel proud of herself. If anyone can make it on some days please do so.

My guess is that even some of the witness observers will be disgusted by this line of reasoning on the part of the WT lawyer. Most modern JW's don't believe that a young girl's wearing of a nightgown around the house is an acceptable excuse for her father to rape her. And as to "the non-reporting of the crime was entirely her choice", witnesses know otherwise.

    Thanks for the updates people.

My reporter buddy basically said the same with more cross examination tomorrow.

There will be a few more coming tomorrow.

    Good luck.

BTW - I just saw the CITY TV news. Charles and Vicki (un-named) creamed them.

For a day with major press we seemed to do well.

6 of 9 - that line of reasoning will not go over well with the judge at all.

If you are able to communicate this to her, please let her know that the prayers of MANY out here are with her.

We've been through it! WE KNOW.

Shame on the dubs. Their 'tool box' doesn't have much in it and the more they dress it up, the more everyone can see that.

Piling all their apples into their 'peer pressure' basket only makes them laughable.

WHY do they believe they MUST get all dressed up and be there to support this man, even to the extent they would lie for him?

Do they not think 'prison ministry' has a value?

They can go see him in prison. Or write to him. Or call.

    It's legal.
