I never lost faith in God......I lost ALL faith in organized religions. God never talked to me personally, never lied to me.........but man did. But I understand what you are going thru right now. I truely believe that God wants me (us) to be good people. Pretty simple, yet pretty complex at times too. My life is a whole lot simpler when I keep the focus on me and my children as opposed to when I felt that I needed to save everyone with preaching the beliefs of the dubs. I never was at peace then like I am now.

I know this is a difficult time for you right now, deedee. But also what an exciting journey you are on! You are "cleaning house", finding out what is important and what isn't. Seeing things for what they really are. It is going to be difficult, but well worth the effort.

p.s., when you coming for a visit, girly?!

After all, we are 98% animal, genetically speaking.

No. We're 100% animal, genetically speaking

Believe in yourself. Most people who have made it big in life, if asked for their advice, will say, "You have to believe in yourself." I can tell from your posts that you have a lot to offer your fellow beings. Find your gifts and use them.

    Best regards,

Yes, we are animals. A horse is 100% animal even though it shares only about 98% (educated guess) of its DNA with a donkey. It's unique 2% (or whatever) is still animal DNA. So is ours.

We all grieve. It's our human problem of being upset when someone does. Not to say that animals don't. But we can grieve in more profound ways.

I know what your feeling Lying Eyes. Wondering what to belive in. Do you throw it ALL away or jsut parts, what parts. I think you have to find what works for you and makes you happy.

I don't belive in the God of the Bible, I belive in a Creator of love. I don't feel the need to pray to him so much as to appreicate nature and all thats around me, and the wonderful people I know. For some reason it seems the more religious a person becomes the more hypocritical they become as well. I think maybe Chris Rock had it right when he said 'beliefs are dangerous, because they can't be changed, it's better to have an idea'. So I'm not a religious person at all with any kind of dogma, but I'm a very spiritual person realizing how much I have to give and can help others. And be part of this wonderful circle of life we call earth.

Last night when I posted this thread, I had just watched the 9/11 story that Celtic was discribing in his tread. It was very moving and showed the horror of what happend on that day , as well as the selflessness of many. They sacrificed themselves , many of the firefighters were not even on duty, but came in on their own, to help complete strangers. I have heard , read and seen many stories about that day, but this one showed the real untold story of what is in the core of humankind, love of life. Many gave their own lives to save the lives of strangers, not just because it was their job, but because they choose to do so and wouldnt have it any other way.
