Ok, what would you do in this one? We bought a van 1 year ago this month. It is a 1995 Chevy conversion van, loaded, high top, tv, vcr and game station. It is really beautiful. BUT! The reason we bought it at the time was because we wanted to be impressive at the hall, you know, for field service and all. I think we might have used it 2 times. Anyway, my son is a co-signer on the van, and he still lives with us, but the biggest problem is it is running like sh--. It needs a rear end, which at the junk yard is about $300, i am already 30 over-due on the payment, another $650, (because will have to pay a double payment)and to make matters worse, we found out that the transmission is going bad because of the rear end and the transmission is about $1,000. Now hubby and son are both mechanics, and can do the work, but that is about $1,950 just to be able to drive it again.
My biggiest thing is, if it were only in my name, i would sent the damn thing back, but I dont want to hurt my sons credit. Even though he says it is not worth putting the money into it. (payment fell behind because of layoff, by the way, and they are back to work.)
So what are your suggestions? I believe because we have only had it a year, alot of these problems already existed, because when I took it to the shop for the rear end, they said it had alread been replaced before, and it was not done properly.
So let me know you feedback., Thanks
