"I Will Survive" by Helen Reddy.
Ok, for real now, Billy Joel
"You may be right, I may be crazy, but it just may be a lunatic you're looking for..."
When I was a kid - a very depressed kid - my favorite song was the Ed Ames version of Climb Every Mountain. Most people know it however from the Sound of Music
CLIMB EVERY MOUNTAIN
Climb every mountain
Search high and low
Follow every byway
Every path you knowClimb every mountain
Ford every stream
Follow every rainbow
Till you find your dreamA dream that will need
All the love you can give
Every day of your life
For as long as you liveClimb every mountain
Ford every stream
Follow every rainbow
Till you find your dreamClimb every mountain
Search high and low
Follow every byway
Every path you knowClimb every mountain
Ford every stream
Follow every rainbow
Till you find your dreamA dream that will need
All the love you can give
Every day of your life
For as long as you liveClimb every mountain
Ford every stream
Follow every rainbow
Till you find your dream
Later on my favorite sond became I am Woman by Helen Reddy
I Am Woman
I am woman, hear me roar
In numbers too big to ignore
And I know too much to go back an' pretend
'cause I've heard it all before
And I've been down there on the floor
No one's ever gonna keep me down again
CHORUS
Oh yes I am wise
But it's wisdom born of pain
Yes, I've paid the price
But look how much I gained
If I have to, I can do anything
I am strong (strong)
I am invincible (invincible)
I am woman
You can bend but never break me
'cause it only serves to make me
More determined to achieve my final goal
And I come back even stronger
Not a novice any longer
'cause you've deepened the conviction in my soul
CHORUS
I am woman watch me grow
See me standing toe to toe
As I spread my lovin' arms across the land
But I'm still an embryo
With a long long way to go
Until I make my brother understand
Oh yes I am wise
But it's wisdom born of pain
Yes, I've paid the price
But look how much I gained
If I have to I can face anything
I am strong (strong)
I am invincible (invincible)
I am woman
Oh, I am woman
I am invincible
I am strong
FADE
I am woman
I am invincible
I am strong
I am woman
After that my favorite song became The Greatest Love of All by Whitney Houston
The Greatest Love Of All
I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to beEverybody's searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found anyone who fulfilled my needs
A lonely place to be and so I learned to depend on meI decided long ago
Never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, If I succeed
At least I lived as I believed
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignityBecause the greatest love of all is happening to me
I've found the greatest love of all inside of me
The greatest love of all is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself, it is the greatest love of allI believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to beI decided long ago
Never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, If I succeed
At least I lived as I believed
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignityBecause the greatest love of all is happening to me
I've found the greatest love of all inside of me
The greatest love of all is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself, it is the greatest love of allAnd if by chance that special place
That you've been dreaming of
Leads you to a lonely place
Find your strength in love

O.K. everybody...don't laugh (or puke). I like country too. Actually I like everything but Rap. The song that I LOVE and it even puts a lump in my throat is:
THE ONE - by Gary Allen
Is there even such a man around?? Maybe an Angel from heaven....
.
"Girls just wanna have fun"
I was really robbed of my childhood, not only by my affiliation with the jw cult, but by being raised by a single mom with major depression/mental illness. Now I try to be childlike as much as possible. I dance as much as possible, laugh, and "play". BTW, this attitude really pisses some people off, they give me that look "what's she so happy about"....
DSGal I was thinking I will survive but it seems Gloria Gaynor did that. After looking at the words I realized it was I am Woman by Helen Reddy I really wanted.
But did Helen Reddy also do a song name I will survive? Is it the same song?
La Vie En Rose by Edith Piaf.
Cool the engines ( Boston )
Roxanne......by Sting!
LOL........Just kidding folks, I have to think about this one for a minute!
