We were in two of them. My husband was Joshua ("SUN, stand still.............." etc.) and I was woman #3, I think. It was very fun to be involved. I also made many of the costumes.

In 1995 we were in the one about helping the elderly. My husband was the main elder. His picture is in the Jan. 1996 WT (can't remember if it was 1 or 15 issue). Check out the redheaded elder, and that's him. I howled when I opened that WT, because we were clearly on our way out of the Borg by then. To see him a WT was just too funny.

In that drama they gave me a different husband and we were caring for my elderly mother, who lived many miles away. They were making the point, that although "mother" had her own congregation, it was our responsibility to care for her needs, not theirs, so we gave up our weekend afternoons, after service of course, to clean and shop for her. Was that prophetic?

Our teenage son was a boy who mowed the lawn for an elderly couple. We had some kids like that in our congregation, but they didn't do the work for FREE.

I agree E'man, I used to think it was blasphemous, now I see it as a true work of genius

Marilyn, you made the costumes? Did you have that problem of people being able to see right in the house at night during convention time?

three cheers for leggo , lol . I remember going to a convention and seeing a drama . You are not kidding about how cheezy they are with the dubbed voices and the flapping hands .We sure couldn't call it art .One that comes to mind was the elijah versus the baal worshippers drama. no pics though.

    LOL @ these drama pictures!

Luckily our Conventions are never really that HUGE here where I stay, so there was never a chance to see the Drama boys flapping their arms. That would surely have provoked stifled giggles, esp. if you were sitting close to the Drama...it was also truly hilarious to see all the bearded Brothers.

I was in a drama once. I played the part of a dub youth that was "tempted" to go astray.......funny thing is........

    A little over a year later I was df'd!

Hmmmmmmmm...........guess I played the part far too well!

Remember when they used to turn out the lights for the dramas and use the facility's stage lighting and spotlights? (at conventions held indoors, that is)

I'm sure Francois can tell us why they quit doing that!
