Thank you for your photos everyone, but I think this thread is getting too interesting for it's remit. I want really USELESS assembly photos. Like this one. It's not of anybody, it's just Twickenham:

And what about those equally useless postcards you used to buy at conventions? Here's one from the International Assembly in 1973:

They had postcards??
Obviously before my time...curious...were they to send to your shunned family members so they could be moved by the holy spirit in postal form to repent and seek out the Truth?

I played the little Israelite girl in the drama of the story of Naaman.... is that how you spell that? in 1973 I think it was. In front of 8000 people. Ugh.. it was so hot with that damned costume on. It was fun, though, I enjoyed it being only 12 years old. hehehh. I still remember my opening line:
Oh Grandfather! How good it is to see you back from GilGal!" <then ran over and threw my arms around this little old man and nearly knocked him off the stage. <smirk> I think I kinda irritated the brothers some because i kept putting in gestures and moving on stage where I wasn't supposed to.
Ah... the memories.

Here are some random people, none of which I know, just wandering about the concourse, this was also before the Twickers rebuild.
Joanna, sure they had postcards! They were all dreadful! Did anybody use them? No. Were they just a money making endeavour? Yes!

This is not exactly a drama picture but it is the biggest mistake of my life. It is my baptismal day. I am the one in the flowered dress about midway up and to the left of the picture, behind the black lady with the brown sweater. I was going to change to be baptised. uuuggggggggg!!!!!!!!!!!

As corny as the dramas were, I still think they were the best part of the assembly. At least we didn't have to listen to the same ole talks over and over.

, I loved the dramas as a child, they made me come out of my convention induced sleep! It wasn't a coincidence that they usually put them towards the end of a session. I loved them especially if I was, or one of my family was, involved or starring. I have many truly awful drama photos that I unfortunately cannot post here, as I still have to retain some anonymity. -
