Depression sure didn't raise my ex wifes libido. She got suicidal and ended up hating the only person that ever cared for her or took care of her. ME!
Turned around and sucked up to the very relatives responsible for her sexual molestation.
It didn't do my libido any good either.

Yeah things are already much better. Married a "good" woman. Worldly and sweet. Got most of my kids out and working on the rest.
Just couldn't resist that "didn't help libido" crack.

I am only going to state what I have read, but it could be if the depression if bipolar disorder.
Bipolar aka manic depressive, causes highs and lows, mood swings. From what I have read when you are in the manic state, or high end of the disorder you can go days without sleep. You can lose judgement and spend large amounts of money. Even taking on brilliant business ideas.Also you could be more sexually promiscuious. All of this seems to be a great wonderful feeling, until you spiral out of control and hit rock bottom, the low, depressive state. I have read that these alternating states can go on for weeks or months, to just days, everyone is diff. and not everyone has the same symptoms. There is even a bipolar 2 that is not as severe as bipolar 1 .

There are cases where a depressed person does become a sex addict, for the reason it makes them feel better and wanted. Generally we think if a person is depressed they are automatically impotent, and this is false. What usually causes the disfunctions outside a slight headache, to a stock market crash, to Global Thermonuclear War..is the meds that cause dysfunction. So in answer to your question is YES depression can cause excessive sexual stimulation, just as much as it causes sexual dysfunction. Can go either way.

yes it can, if u are a bipolar, formerly known as manic depressive. Might be a good idea to see a dc do he can rule that out.
