  I will not comment on the lawyering until well after the trial. There is so much going on in this trial and there is Vicki and Scott (and sometimes a few others - hehehehe) on one side and 8 friggen lawyers with an unlimited budget on the other.

  The key for Mr. Mark will be the "points of law" and the close (summary) of the case. I know it is a boring part in Court but it is a very important segment. This should be done late Friday and on Monday.

  p.s. - Sorry I missed you on Monday. I got your note you sent to Scully and I have replied via her. Like I said to her - worry about these side bar issues after this trial is done.

  I'm really glad you are in contact with Vicki and Scott so much and can give them your support on a regular basis.

  I have been absolutely fascinated the days I have been there-haven't found it boring at all. To see it so well documented (the letters to and from the WTS etc) how the WTS and elders had behaved in this case, just gives so much more to ammunition to beat down the lame prostestations coming from avid JWs. Their cries of "the WTS has a strong policy in place to help the victim" and "JW always look after the children" are being shown up for what they truly are....just blowing alot of wind.

  I have found each day there to be fascinating to see them trip and stumble over their own words and their true colours exposed. Why is it so hard for them to explain the WTS policies? Because they are unexplanable...they keep changing....they're ambiguous...and when an elder is trying to explain them, he and the WTS come off looking like fools.

  Thanks for the info on when the summary is expected. I'm trying to arrange my work schedule to be there again tomorrow and glad that might be the summary day. I'm disappointed that I couldn't get away from work to be there everyday...but I'm grateful for the days I could get there. To see the support Vicki is getting from her husband is heartwarming. He's warm, bright and on the ball with all the facts of what the WTS said and did, and they both are a delight to talk with.

  Vicki if you read this know I am with you in spirit. My back has gone out-I am "folded over"

  It is so painful... So it was nothing you said to me honey- I am so proud of the way your handling it all. I thank Hawkaw so much for updating us.

  You have helped SO many by doing this exposure......I was ashamed I ever was a JW when I heard them blatenly lie. Especially when Brown was it who sai "You make us sound like a dictatorshop" Right Brown YOU SAID IT!:X

  I hope whoever can keep us informed on when the verdict will come down. I'm sure it will be standing room only in the courtroom for the verdict and it would be nice to have a good presence for vicki.

  I think this issue would not have the exposure in canada had it not been for this trial and I'm sure it has prompted many more victims to come forward who would not have heard about it otherwise.

  Elders also need to really think about their role in an increasingly volatile environment where many upset JW's and former JW's will not hessitate to sue them if they are out of line. Many elders are sincere within the framework of the policies they are given but only are acting upon limited information without knowing the institution they have put full confidence in ultimately intends to hang them out to dry if it is in their best interests to do so.

  Win or lose, Vicki's courage has certainly made an impact. I wish her the best.

  The WTS will "hang them out to dry" if it involves money and their reputation. I have heard a number of elders say in the past they were very discourged and some have stept down due to being held responsible for so much. Just the WTS whipping boys.

  Well they threw up a witness yesterday (September 19) to try and discredit Frank Mott Trille.

  I don't think the defence gets it though. Mott-Trille wanted Vicki's case immediately reported to the Children's Aid as required by law. Was it done? No!!! Did other elders like Mr. Mumm back him up - Yep!! Frank wanted Vicki to get some mental help. Was it done? No. Did it hurt her for not going. According to Vicki's own shrink - yep.

  So on and on they go - going after Mott Trille's character. Yes Frank blew it big time in another case and got disbarred. But the evidence backs Frank Mott Trille this time and the JWs keep wasting the court's time by ad hominening him. As the judge told the defence way back 2 Wednesdays ago - its irrelevant.

  The press core was quiet yesterday and likely will be today, but don't worry they are coming back for one final push at the end. I have made damn sure of that.

  Apparently the WTS has a couple more surprise Witnesses and then they will put one final defendant on the stand. After that rebutal witnesses by the plantiff, if any, and then summary by the lawyers. The trial should end Monday or Tuesday. No doubt the decision by the judge will be in a few months.

  Scott & Vicki asked me about you too the other day. I told him you were okay seeing you didn't state anything in your Emails to me the other day. Sorry I didn't realize you were hurt. I hope you are feeling okay and again thanks for going to the trial.
