Maybe they have a loose definition of love? They could be defining love as not hate. LOL!!!! Morons...

It actually makes more sense that way! Let's try it!

" You don't have to be doing what you don't hate, to not hate what you are doing."

WTF???? This is the kind of confirmation bias supporting, incoherent nonsense that only a J-dumb would love...errr..ummm...not hate???

It makes perfect cult sense. If you don't like where you work you're probably less likely to seek association there, instead you'll turn to the "friends" at the congregation.

Besides, you've got to make the job more palatable for those Bethelites who get assigned menial jobs in cleaning rooms, laundry, pest and vermin control and scrubbing toilets--somebody's got to do it, right?

I don't think any of the GB 2.0 and their wives, nor their oh-so-very-important Helpers, are going to "help" out in any of the cleaning departments any time soon.

I remember, 30 years ago, washing windows, cleaning filthy bathrooms, waxing floors, shampooing carpets, etc. all so that I could pioneer. Believe it or not, I actually felt good about the work I was doing because it supported the thing I loved the most, being a JW. I now realize that I was indoctrinated to love the organization more than myself. As long as that is the case, you can learn to like/love anything they tell you to.

Don't go to school and learn to do something that provides a decent paycheck!!!

"Don't go to school and learn to do something that provides a decent paycheck!!!"

But still send us all of your money!!! Hey GB...window washers and janitors don't make much to send you.

If they were smart they would encourage young ones to go get an education so they could send them all of their money. The real problem is....as Anthony Morris once said, "in college you will have to take Philosophy". Philosophy will let the college student know that the JW cult is BS.

Considering all the acting required to pretend to be "happy" jehovah's witness style, you think they would encourage an acting class...or two.

That is a lie - it REALLY does matter what you do. You clearly want to be proficient, so I am not discounting this but if you do what you love and what creates value you will be natural course become proficient.

It's telling that their goal or standard is mere proficiency.

While proficiency is not a bad thing, it's certainly also not setting the bar very high. And I'm not even addressing the areas of endeavor about which they try to direct one's "proficiency!

A particular pervasive aspect of JW culture is the utter lack of encouragement to become EXCELLENT at anything. And for God's sake, don't try and pursue anything about which you care passionately!

    Let's review: It's a cult!

I recall that Martin L. King was credited with saying that if you even if you were a janitor, to be the best janitor you could. But he never discouraged people from reaching for their dreams.
