JJ,
As you say, I can't prove he didn't and you can't prove he did. My point is that his creating everything (or not) is irrelevant. Let's say he *did*. Even then, it would be a moot point. I didn't question Jehovah's creatorship in my initial post, anyway. My point was more along the lines of something my friend Janet once said in a song: "What have you done for me lately?"
What acts of god can you point to in the past, say, 2000 years? During all the horrendous calamities--manmade and natural--that have happened and continue to happen taking millions of innocent lives (many of who believe in god's protection, btw), where can you point to as any evidence that god was there in some way to lessen the tragedy. You can't.
I have no problems with HIM, he's done alright by me.
That's funny! I'd imagine that your mom, dad, aunts, uncles, cousins and even your next door neighbor when you were a kid had *something* to do with the good that has come to you in life. Your own personal initiative probably had something to do with where you are, too. It's my contention that god hasn't lifted a finger to help you. He's just been watching, nothing more.
Like he did on 9/11 and during every other tragedy that's happened before or since. My point.
