It's a theory i have concerning kids. It seems that most young kids have an attraction to violence. I'm not sure why this is. I have read that the birthing process is traumatic for babies. Does it come from that or other shocks that babies must undergo?
In therapy, when causes of bad habits/thoughts are surfaced and examined, they usually dissapate, or at least lose their power. Cutting off all outlets for anger or other base instincts seems to store them and allow them to build negative power. I see that process as a denial of the shadow/dark side of the subconscious. Unexpressed, it continues to negatively influence the psyche, body or actions, although, as another thread suggested, at a certain point one is likely better off to start ignoring the negative.
Trying this type of thing on adult pedos as a form of therapy, is something i hadn't thought of. It's a new idea to me, what can i say? If psychiatrists did attempt a test of this, it would cause a hell of an uproar.
The roots of violence are different that the roots of pedophilia. See above for my violence theory. Pedophilia is hormone driven. (Why or what causes it to start is another discussion). A while ago, i read in the paper that a pedo here in montreal had undergone castration by doctors as a treatment for it. He was quoted as saying something to the affect that he was releaved that he wouldn't have pedo urges anymore.
