The NOAA map is now showing a track closer to the original one.

If we all close our eyes, make a wish and click our heels together thrre times, we can make this go away.

Here is an updated forecast discussion for New York from the National Weather Service in New York. It looks like it is going to get pretty windy on friday along with the rain .

    AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NEW YORK NY
    340 PM EDT THU SEP 26 2002

A WARM FRONT SOUTH OF THE AREA THIS AFTERNOON WILL MOVE SLOWLY
NORTHWARD AND PASS THROUGH THE REGION FRIDAY MORNING. THIS WILL
CONTINUE THE LIGHT TO MODERATE RAIN THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT HOURS AND
AT TIMES MAY BE HEAVY AS TROPICAL MOISUTRE WORKS INTO THE SYSTEM.
ELSEWHERE...THE REMNANTS OF ISIDORE WILL MOVE RAPIDLY NORTHEAST FROM
THE GULF COAST STATES...REACHING WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA BY FRIDAY
EVENING AND THEN MOVE TO NEAR NOVA SCOTIA BY SATURDAY MORNING.

BOTH THE GFS AND ETA MODELS SPIN UP A WEAK SURFACE LOW ALONG THE
FRONTAL BOUNDARY/INVERTED TROF OFF THE MID ATLANTIC COAST AND BRING
THE SYSTEM NORTHWARD TO LONG ISLAND BY 12Z FRIDAY. THIS WILL KEEP
THE FORECAST AREA MAINLY IN A WARM ADVECTION PRECIPITATION TYPE
PATTERN OVERNIGHT. RAINFALL AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED TO RANGE BETWEEN 1
AND 2 INCHES BY THE TIME IT ENDS FRIDAY MORNING WITH THE PASSAGE OF
THE WARM FRONT. BASED ON FFG VALUES..THIS SHOULD RESULT IN MAINLY IN
    NUISANCE TYPE FLOODING.

A SECOND ROUND OF RAIN WILL COME LATE FRIDAY IN THE FORM OF
SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THAT ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP TO
OUR WEST AS THE WARM FRONT LIFTS INTO SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND. THE
    COMBINATION OF A STENGTHENING LOW-LELVEL JET...TROPICAL
MOISTURE...AND REMNANT ENERGY ASSOC WITH ISIDODRE MAY TRIGGER A
PRE-FRONTAL SQUALL LINE LATE TOMORROW AFTERNOON INTO THE EARLY
EVENING. A GENERAL AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL FOLLOW
ALONG AND AHEAD OF THE SURFACE COLD FRONT. PREFER THE QUICKER GFS
FRONTAL MOVEMENT AS THE ETA HAS BEEN LAGGING WITH THE ENTIRE EVENT.
THUS..THE WARMER ETA GUIDANCE FOR SATURDAY WAS THROWN OUT IN PLACE
OF THE GFS MOS. AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 2 INCHES OF RAINFALL IS POSSIBLE
WITH THIS SECOND ROUND OF RAIN. THIS AGAIN WILL PRODUCE FLOODING OF
ROADS AND LOW LYING AREAS. IN ADDITION...SMALL STREAMS COULD
EXPERIENCE SIGNIFICANT RISES...BUT SHOULD STAY WITHIN THEIR BANKS.

AS THE REMNANTS OF ISIDORE REACH WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA LATE IN THE
DAY FRIDAY...SOUTHERLY WINDS WILL INCREASE AND BECOME GUSTY.
SUSTAINED WINDS WILL BE AROUND 25 MILES AN HOUR WITH GUSTS UPWARDS
TO AROUND 45 MPH POSSIBLE. THE STRONG WINDS WILL CONTINUE FRIDAY
NIGHT AND GRADUALLY DIMINISH SATURDAY MORNING AS THE STORM MOVES TO
THE NORTH THEN EAST OF THE AREA.

MARINE: SMALL CRAFT UP FOR THE COASTAL WATERS AS SEAS AT THE BUOYS
UP TO 7 FT. AS GRADIENT TIGHTENS UP LATE FRI...WINDS WILL COME CLOSE
    TO GALE WARNING CRITERIA.

    ZONES OUT SHORTLY.

    CT...NONE.
    NY...NONE.
    NJ...NONE.
    MARINE...SCA FOR COASTAL WATERS...ANZ350-353-355.
GLW MAY BE NEEDED ALL WTRS FRI NITE.
